Actually they might not be an interfaith couple, I think Tara converts Sakina to Sikhism in the first part when the mob on the railway station comes to know that she is a Muslim and is baying for Sakina'a blood.

In that scene Tara tells the mob after applying his own blood on Sakina's forehead, "Lo Yeh ho gayi Sikhni(She is a Sikh now, implying nobody will touch her.)".

However, Sakina is later shown to be a Muslim.

Anybody who thought Gadar 2 was not going to be BB does not understand Indian films or Indian audience, it is not just a BB it is en route to a clean BB, a very rare occurance, we have not seen since Bahubali and Dangal. People just don't realise how big a success Gadar was in 2001. Gadar 2 was bound to succeed.

They have thrown a grand success party which was attended by the who’s who of the industry. Ameesha Patel is looking like a million bucks and for some reason it warmed my heart. But the main news is Rajkumar Santoshi also has attended, which means he and Sunny patched up. I also saw Rahul Rawail who said he has a script ready and is in discussions with Sunny about it. Fingers crossed for some good OG films with these wonderful directors.🤞

I am so so freaking happy and probably emotional that Gadar 2 is indeed the iconic Gadar's legacy. I was 8 years old when the original released, was in love with the whole film, watched it zillion times and still can go and rewatch it.

Also Sunny Deol looks exactly same as he did 22 years ago, the man has solid screen presence, I am yet to watch Gadar 2 but already butterflies in the stomach to celebrate one of my favorite BW films of all time. 🥳

Sunny backed him when no one else was willing to finance Ghayal. The duo became best of the friends and you can see it spilling into the work they did together. Several things happened after that which lead to their total fallout.

Though Sunny had successful movies without him, he never got the critical acclaim that Rajkumar movies got him. On the other hand Santoshi continued to make critically acclaimed movies but did not have the BO success that he had with Sunny.

I love the movie.

Gadar has broken 2 more box office records today.

1)The biggest advance recorded in Bollywood history. 33.18 Cr in just advance tickets for today beating 32 cr of Pathaan(Day 2). Pathaan grossed 70 cr total that day.

2) Biggest Independence day collections which were held by Ek Tha Tiger since 2012 (32.93 cr day 1) have been beaten by Gadar just on advance sales.

The only thing that's holding the film down is the lack of screens but the long run should make up for it.
