As for the BO, Ranveer has lost half of his fan following during the negative campaign against him by the so called SSR bots( not true SSR fans but they were going around in his name but with their own agendas) who spread toxic shit against him saying he grabbed every movie that SSR was about to do, and people believed this shit swearing to never watch his movies again. I personally know some hardcore fans who dropped him after all this.

Alia went through a lot of shit too but thankfully SLB came to her rescue quite early on.He put her in a dream role of Gangubai which elevates the protagonist,which she grabbed and gave her everything to it and then the marriage and baby etc just warmed up people towards her. Plus she is a good actor too, learning and improving her craft from movie to movie.

As for Ranveer, he did basic ass movies like Jayeshbhai which didn’t elevate him at all. Because the roles one does also matter in building the fan following. Anyway, I bet he has a story to tell one day about this phase of his life. Good thing is, he is a wonderful actor and a quick learner too.

Ranveer has some serious bad luck. How does he do movies with Kabir Khan, KJo etc and fall flat. I thought Gully Boy really solidified his position but it seems like he’s still struggling

Watched the film. Overall, I enjoyed it. Some things were good and some could have been better.

The story is simple and straightforward, but its treatment makes it work.

The biggest positive for me is the performances of the leads and their chemistry. Ranveer and Alia as Rocky and Rani are phenomenal in the movie, and so is their chemistry. I personally would have loved the movie more if there was more love story than family drama.

Shabana Azmi was good. Dharmendra was OK. Didn't like Jaya's character and performance.

Other supporting cast did well, especially Rani's parents and Rocky's dad.

There are some hilarious comedy scenes and solid drama scenes e.g. the scene just after Dhindhora Baje Re.

The music is strictly average, it's the biggest drawback of the movie. Background music is really good.

They have used many old songs in various scenes, which many people may find irritating and boring.

I personally didn't find the movie very long, as the screenplay is engaging, and the movie doesn't become boring at any point. I can see some people totally loving the movie and some not so much. That's why I feel the WOM will be mixed.

If you like KJo movies and other movies of this zone, you should definitely watch it. For me it's much better than ADHM but KKHH & K3G remain the Top 2 KJo movies.
