Sush always had this bold image, so she was mostly seen as someone who would be suitable for roles like the one she had in Biwi No. 1. No one would offer her Karishma's role in Biwi No. 1 at the time.
I think today actors are stereotyped less and have more opportunities compared to when Sush and all debuted. At that time actresses were supposed to look a certain way and be a certain way off camera to bag lead roles. They preferred actresses with the innocent, docile, good girl tag.
Sush was too much for people to digest. With her open affairs and confidence to call out people.
Also, she was never known as an "actor". She was stereotyped as a glamourous diva. I have only seen 1 film of hers, Main Hoon Na. And she was Sush in the film, not Ms. Chandni.
Lets hope OTT gives her a chance to explore and prove her mettle. Also improve her craft.
