I am a light sleeper so I am always aware around my surroundings so any noise I’m up and alert. I keep my phone near me in case I need to dial 911 and I keep a baseball bat next to me as well. Also, I took up self defense courses as well. As I’m the type who is in action mode in case needed.

I'm a heavy sleeper.. sometimes I can have my alarm CD player blasting near my ears.. the entire CD played out .. and I'm still fast asleep.

I hate tye pillow thing too.

There's a quote from that movie ''Someone's at the door'' A character kept repeating it. If I remember correctly, the character died before saying those words. She came back as a ghost from time to time.

After watching it, whenever I was alone in any room, especially my bedroom or went to the bathroom, it reminded me of those scary images and that quote. Even when trying to get to sleep, I was scared.

Horror TV Shows and Movies can really disturb you for days. 💀

Very true, they can really mess with your mind. Once upon a time I never used to be scared of horror movies.. but certain movies just knocked the wind out of me.

I bet u can't read Stephen King?

Even I sometimes struggle with his stuff. Creeps me out.

Gosh....

They really take advantage of people's misfortunes.

Whoa... are you okay? I've heard about sleep paralysis from some of my friends and I can understand it must be really scary

I always feel like I'm falling off a cliff when I'm stressed. Take care of yourself. Do a lot of positive self talk. Before sleeping drink some warm milk, and just lie down trying to calm you mind.

Take care 🤗 I'm sure you'll feel better soon...

I get this.

Mine always is a train coming off the tracks. You are right it's to do with stress and anxiety.. and I can't recall the reason the why the body responds to it like this.

Last night I was home alone, chilling in my brothers room watching TV. He has a fan (as below) right beside his couch and it’s been kept off for a while now as it’s been freezing these past two weeks. It was around 10pm when randomly the fan switched on. The switch to turn the fan on is located on the very top, out of my reach. I would have to stretch my arm out to reach the switch. I got creeped out and leaned over to switch it off. Then I continued watching TV when 10 minutes later it turned on again. This time I was proper scared so I called my brother to ask if this has happened to him before. My brother said that the night before he woke up in the middle of the night and realised the fan had turned on by itself. This is the first time it’s ever happened.

Hearing that I was like fcuk that shit I’m out. I turned off the fan and left the room. An hour later I came back to his room and realised the fan was on again, so I pulled the socket out completely and left it. Could’ve been a faulty fan but bruh, rationality goes right out the window when you’re home alone.

That's creepy. Even my room light turns on by itself in the middle of the night and sometimes even in the middle of the day, I'm used to it now.😆

When I was newly married, it used to happen everyday. Now it happens like once a year. Thankfully last night I could sleep normally again. Also it only happens when I'm alone in the room.

It's sad that no one talks about the changes our minds go through after marriage.

Will try. Thanks guys for understanding and the comforting words.🤗

My own parents never took this issue seriously or the trauma I went through. When I told my husband about it the first time, he installed cameras in the room without telling me so he could keep a check on his laotop while he's at work. He then told me a few days later when I experienced it again that he saw on the camera and I was peacefully sleeping.😳 But I swear I was awake! But it was reassuring to know that there was nothing out of the ordinary happening in the room.😆

I used to witness weird stuff during these phases of paralysis, once I could hear like someone was typing away on my keyboard. (My computer was on the right side of my room, and my head was turned to the left side, so I could only hear but could not turn to see).

Another time I felt like someone was sitting on the sofa and watching TV. (The TV room used to be adjoined to my bedroom and the door in the middle was left open). There was no one at home.

A few times I felt like someone was sitting next to me watching me sleep. I could actually feel the bed move like someone sat on it.

I'm a very anxious person, and morning is the time when my anxiety is at peak. Maybe that explains it.

Anyway, I have some more stories of things that actually happened (nothing to do with sleep paralysis), but I'm too lazy to type them now...😆

Ive noticed that there is usually a trigger for sleep paralysis. For me it happen it used to happen in one particular room. I avoid that room now. Atleast for sleeping.

After your marriage you are probably under a lot of stress right? Too many things to do. Too many people to handle. And it such a sudden change.
