I have seen people ill treat widowed women too. Not because of social stigma but because they are perceived as weak by the society. They will also comment if after some years after their husband’s death they like to dress up or wear certain colors.

All the time. Cheap toxic desi society thinks woman should live like zinda laash after death of husband or kids should remain depressed if dad died.

My aunt was judged for taking kids to movies or malls after few months of uncle's death. She just wanted to cheer up kids and make them feel life would continue as it is and she told them their dad always wanted to see them happy so they have to be happy for his sake. She wanted to lift kids from depression after dad's sudden death.

But people judged her for resuming her job, going to work, taking kids for movies and to malls within 8 months of her husband's death.

We supported her and the cousins and felt it was great they were trying to move on and get back to normal. Today her kids are resilient and focus on own self, life, studies, career and do not bother about society and choose to do whatever that makes them happy or calmer. They live by mantra that what is gone is gone and their dad must be up there looking for them and their dad just wants them to be happy and not grieve or be depressed all life.

I know how widows and kids who lost dads are kept away from functions or marriages or godh bharai type events or expected to dress drab, look dull, never smile or be happy or live like they are penniless or on roads and never eat well or travel or have fun or go for shopping or outings. They are called bad luck charm or evil eye. It is disturbing.

Whereas no one asks a widower to cry all life or live like Devdas. Widower is rather asked to remarry soon. Or resume work as if nothing happened.

Widows are judged even more harshly if they remarry.

I was angry when I saw people troll Waheeda, Zeenat, Neetu for living their life to fullest or dress well or travel or attend parties 'despite being widows' and I hate it how Rekha is trolled for dressing up and wearing sindoor 'despite being widow'. Like their life their choice na? Who is anyone to judge their character or assume they disrespect deceased husband or must not have loved their husband enough or forgot him or dishonoured their memory?

This society hates women. Period. They hate financially independent women and kids even more and cannot digest woman living her life on her own even if she has no man by her side. They still have medieval mindset and think widow is weak or bad luck charm or dependent or needy or cannot manage on her own or must be lonely or depressed and how can she eat well or dress well or give good life to kids?

Even in laws blame woman for death of husband or call her cursed till date or resent her. As if they have no 'apnapan' for DIL and nothing is left if there is no son/brother/grandson. Is DIL not your relation?

I have never seen death of a woman/mom/wife being treated as much of a loss or disaster as death of a man in Indian society. Even if woman earns or does all chores at work or family depends on her for their emotional and physical needs.

Her whole life and family is in shambles yet she acts like a queen bee in front of media.

We do not need to take names. The fans will descend like swarm of bees defending the only 'family man' in history of India.

All news and reports about him, his kids or wife are fake. Kuch ni bolne ka.

Anyway these women probably stay for money or due to pressure to keep perfect family image in public.

They resign to their fate while man and kids go around doing anything at cruises, hotels and parties. Or probably have secret affairs or drug parties themselves to cope.

Madhur Bhandarkar has made enough films hinting at degenerate lifestyle of rich, famous and powerful.
