…and yes none of her work in that “big” show or that “leading” tv show made any splash …let alone the cringe induced

lol and save ur women against women narrative …one dosent need to be a “fellow woman trying to bring her down” to see she’s just an empty vessel who makes noise

if she didn’t make any “splash” it wouldn’t have got her a leading role in a Russo brothers production coming from the Indian film industry. Say what you want but how will u deny the undeniable. People can’t even do half of her hustle or have her talent but yeah she’s the empty vessel whose a celebrity and global ambassador…and who are you…never mind !

Indeed never mind …

Given u have so freely commented about someone u don’t even know ….and are willing to put down based on a 2 post interaction ,

I can certainly form my own opinion on Priyanka and her work given the (over)exposure I’ve had to those in the last 10-15 years
Atleast it’s a more informed opinion 🤓

A true splash is capitalising on an opportunity …and what u make out of it ….opportunities can come based on money, luck, right place at the right time, connections and hustle …recognition comes only to skill…

She got to sing with Pittbul in her second single…that dosent mean she’s topping the billboard ..thats an opportunity …not a splash

so a tardy chapter in singing negates her skill and talent as a successful actor and the global recognition she’s receiving ? Ok. No one in bollywood can achieve what she’s done so it don’t matter if she gets your validation lol

The West as the 'Holy Grail', the 'nePlusUltra' of achievement for an Indian actress? Still this thinking that the West is better??? That it is worth to look for success there instead of giving successful movies in India that get global recognition?.

She could have made a Don3 whithout propagating an affair with SRK...I bet this movie would have garnered more attention than her Baywatch, Love again etc.

But okay, her choice...but I think there is not much to glorify her. She had achievements, without any doubt (but a success-story? - hardly, I think)

Yes. The standard is still the West. The standard is still the Oscars. Who here thought it should be IIFA or Filmfare? They’re an absolute shit show with the most cringiest moments. Got back from a trip to Italy last week and right outside my hotel in the city centre was a bus stop with a huge poster of Priyanka and RM for Citadel. Super proud moment as a desi. This girl has hustled like no other, kudos to her!

It's the continuous moving of goal posts. Earlier it was that she wasn't getting roles, then she wasn't getting lead roles, now it's that she isn't an A-lister? All these Bollywood actors keep giving auditions for small roles in Hollywood and keep getting rejected and there's a thread every day about XYZ at ABC film festival and CDE global brand ambassador, but somehow Hollywood isn't the standard for success for people now?

She is a 40 year old brown foreign-born actress trying to make it in Hollywood. Girl is getting lead roles, has brand endorsements by the dozens, is working with big names and is fairly popular with Americans. And she is still clearly going upwards. Not sure what more of a splash she is supposed to make.

Aish with the right team would’ve killed it in Hollywood with her face card. But the idea of South Asian talent in Hollywood was just so alien at the time. I have close friends working in the South Asian space for the biggest talent companies in USA and I always laugh when I hear the stories of Bollywood actors/actresses begging to meet them and arrange a meeting in the desperate hope that one of them will make it big in Hollywood so YES, the West is still the standard, even for Indian actors! So even if you think PC is in a sham marriage, or you just don’t like her association with married men, it’s incredibly unfair to take anything away from what she’s achieved in Hollywood. She oozes confidence and maybe even ruthlessness but she wouldn’t have made it this far if she wasn’t. Sometimes I think it’s just desi mentality tbh. Take a Malala or take a PC, both seem to get most hate from their own people. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that differences in vision led to the exit of half the creative team and has forced the show — a spy thriller that is meant to launch local spinoffs — into a round of expensive reshoots.

Now, a seven-episode series that was already costing at least $160 million net is adding $75 million, sources say, and is on track to becoming the second-most expensive show ever made.

Amazon had no comment on the budget or the exits. Two insiders noted that while the budget did hit upward of $250 million gross, that included high COVID-19 costs, not factored in when the series was initially greenlit. Nor does it account for significant tax credits for shooting in locales such as London.

That makes sense. I tried the first episode and I was wondering why it looked so cheap.

Call the work she’s getting cringe or low budget… but why take the credit away where it’s due? She has achieved what was considered impossible, to break into an industry that’s so white and unaware about cultures beyond what’s american. It takes guts and courage to reintroduce yourself in a new industry, break the ceiling and still keep going despite obstacles. She’s paved the way for more Indian actors to dream beyond the impossible. Its easy to criticise but I can only imagine the amount of hard work and will power it has taken her to materialise any of this.
