I remember reading about this in some other actors context... They have their staff scope out where their ex is and make an appearance after they have left or before they have arrived... For seating events, their staff decides with the organiser as to who'll sit where...

... . I can't remember the name of the actor but apparently he sat in his car till his ex left and then made an appearance... The main concern is not to bump into the ex in front of the media.
