Aman doesn't "aspire" to be an angel...it was something he had to do before dying...it's a kind of spiritual side of the movie and more impactful.

Don't underestimate the impact of Kal Ho Naa Ho just because of this end, Minti. You give it a negative streak with the term of self-rightoutness and God-complex... I give it the positive streak with a kind of love that just wants the other one(s) have a good life...make them smile (how very SRK this is).

Had the doctor a heart for him to transplant and he could have a life with this heart, he would have happily agreed to live their love together... He even says it to Rohit... he is very open about his feelings towards Rohit...didn't you ask yourself, why???

Btw., at the time of shooting, Yash Johar was ill and i think - like Yashji - also Yash Uncle sensed his death nearing (he died seven months after the release of KHNH).

Aman was a meddler from the beginning itself. Poking his nose where he isn't wanted. I found him as annoying as SRK from DDLJ irritating Kajol. He had no business dictating who Naina should marry. Bringing her together with Rohit is controlling her from the grave. Maybe given a chance she'd have married someone later on with whom she could have had a warmer relationship. Rohit and her have a tepid friendly relationship and nothing more. But what do you expect from Hindi film heroes who regularly donate their girl friends in the name of dosti?

However Rohit and Naina were alredy engaged and were happy about the engagement (Naina didn't know yet about Aman's real condition).

So, after the engagement in which Naina consented knowing Rohit's love, what should have been after Naina got to know that Aman was meant to die rather sooner than later?

Why not give her the option of remaining single until she falls in love with someone she really wants? That could have happened even after Aman's death.

Naina should have stayed happily single.

I wish Naina and Rohit had put their foot down and told Aman not to mess their lives with his twisted ways.

But in the end she did look happy with Rohit .

So I guess Aman's ways did prove lucky for Naina

I still loved and love Aman .. 🥺
