Also, Kareena's toh mat dekho na, no one is forcing you, edited clip, was made viral and used against the film.

Secondly, team Pathaan did best thing by avoiding promotions or interviews and gave no clarifications and kept low profile, kept Deepika away from promotions too. SRK also avoided interviews or press confs.

Aamir made mistake of giving clarifications about his old statements and apologising. That was taking the bait.

Aamir also had additional negativity against him due to his second divorce and his crying about not giving time to family.

LSC was also a dull, sad, depressing film and slow, choppy compared to a usual Aamir film. A poor adaptation and remake. Not entertaining or escapist fare like Pathaan.

Pathaan is an action film with glamour and has theme of patriotism, released on R Day weekend. So good for them.

Deepika's glam avatar, cameo by Salman, SRK's body display only help the film get more eyeballs. I bet if it was another rom com or family drama or historical or biopic or period film or message film by SRK then it would fail.

Audience wants paisa vasool escapism.

Staying lowkey helped Pathaan. Aamir should also go underground and not speak much. Give some entertaining film in future. So should others like Salman, Akshay, HR. Ajay is doing well with Drishyam series for eg.

Eh Aamir has not been treated any worse than SRK. Lal Singh had very little buzz, so Aamir tried to get some hype from the boycott gang a la Bhansali. It backfired spectacularly on him personally. The movie would have flopped with or without.

SRK has handled it in a much more dignified way.

What works for srk is his underdog image ….everyone knows his story his struggle and his attitude that got him here …and people relate to that .

Srk is also a lot more aware, grounded and shrewd than kareena or aamir

This is why I think SRK should learn and keep blabbermouth Taapsee away from Dunki promotions in future or keep her away from media or Dunki team should ask Taapsee and aggressive VVC to keep quiet and not take media bait.

Silence this time. Neither clarification for issues nor begging audience to please see film, worked in favour of Pathaan.

All stars should do the same. Let work do the talking.

Aamir is treated worse than SRK and before him too. I mean BJP banned his films in Gujarat once he supported NBA, donated for victims of Gujarat pogrom, called Modi a mass murderer.

SRK is more discreet compared to Aamir and never messed openly with RW no matter what he felt. He was clever enough to keep silent this time and he never spoke stupid shit like 'wife wanted to leave India' like Aamir blabbered during intolerance controversy.

SRK is never as poorly spoken and reckless in political controversies as Aamir.

Thanks to his education and more exposure to real life compared to 12th dropout, film industry boy, Aamir who has grown up in a privileged bubble.

LSC would have surely flopped anyway due to no hype, no promotion, slow and choppy screenplay, no festive release, no masala. But it did get in trouble due to past interviews and tweets of Aamir, Bebo and Atul Kulkarni. Atul is also anti RW, supported NBA, CAA protests and once said he was not a Hindu but an atheist. His old tweets were used as well to incite boycott.

Aamir offering apologies, clarifications or begging others to see film only backfired. SRK's and Deepika's silence anf remaining away from any interviews or media worked a lot in favour of Pathaan. The Pathaan team used more sense compared to Team LSC. Aamir and Kareena's pleading to see the film or offering apologies, made boycott gang feel empowered. Aamir also had extra negativity against him post his second divorce and was used as poster boy of serial love jihad and SM was full of propaganda that he is looking for third non Muslim woman to use. SRK has no such additional negativity on his personal life, except the Aryan drug fake case.

SRK has comparatively less ground to attack him compared to Aamir who is a walking talking bait for RW. Aamir himself took too much panga with RW, in past, that SRK has usually avoided. Content and festive release of Dangal, PK, D3, 3I, Fanaa saved him. LSC had no such factor in its favour.

Aamir and Bebo are not as shrewd, carefully spoken in choice of words, controlled in media, public persona as SRK is. SRK is way more eloquent than the former.

He has also been smart enough to tone down his 'net worth', 'I am the best' type flamboyant image in recent years and keep silence despite flops and Aryan issue. It was smart of him to not say a word on his ordeal aa a dad during Aryan issue. Act as if nothing happened, raat gayi baat gayi. The silence, offering no clarifications, not harping on past stardom, keeping humility, not begging anyone to see film, helped him immensely. So did silence of Deepika who tweeted nothing and kept silent on drug case, targeting she got over JNU or the sexist remarks she got for orange bikini in Besharam rang song.

Aamir and Bebo were disaster in front of media and so was filmmaker Atul Kulkarni with his old tweets going viral. Team Pathaan keeping away from media worked in its favour. They and Aditya Chopra have way more shrewdness and restraint compared to others. YRF managed and did firefighting for Fanaa also when Aamir was adding fuel to fire fighting with BJP and refusing to apologise and bashing BJP non-stop in 2006. This is why Fanaa managed to break opening records despite being banned in Gujarat. Aamir and Bebo have foot in mouth disease. Perhaps a result of being industry kids and not seen life outside glam world like SRK.
