In general South Indians use the term North India broadly. Not just for cinema. I was referring to that. It is also wrong to assume BW represents whole of India or North India. We got Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati etc cinema too.

That’s what I am saying here. We refer to each of these cinemas by the industry they come from not with a blanket name ‘north’. Btw, Bengali industry is not north.

Most south Indians know the difference between Bollywood and other north Indian movie sectors. For a lot of north Indians, there is a giant blob called south Indian cinema.
Why would you pretend the bigotry doesn't exist?
Exactly. I am actually shocked that we have to cover the basics here. No South Indian refers to the entire North Indian population as Biharis or Punjabis but the entire South Indian population are called as either south or Madrasis.

I never saw Amitabh doing antics like villains flying with one kick. 🤣
Or cigarette flying and landing in his mouth.
Nor do I remember cheap dialogues in Amitabh films except Mard.
Or Amitabh stalking heroines in all films and showing it as love.
South Indian films have stalking as staple and an art. And funny nonsense of villains flying in air with one kick.
I like Jai Bhim type stuff they make though. But not their masala films.
I agree. Bollywood used to make interesting and entertaining movies with repeat value before the south Indians came along and spoiled it all.
We should totally return to the intellectual heights of the 80s and 90s where Aamir Khan harassed the principal's daughter or SRK shoved a bra in a girl's face. Not misogyny at all.
👍🏼 Mocking 4 large and separate groups of people and blaming them for BW's lack of ideas and talent. Keep it up. Not bigotry at all.
I think there are lots of movies post 2010 that have repeat value. But I would say Bollywood's greatest downfall happened around 2014 until present. Probably the worst time in Bollywood history.
These are some post-2010 movies I personally think have repeat value: ZNMD, YJHD, Queen, TWMR, Dil Dhadkne Do, Piku,

His films became repetitive but were about marginalised sections of society suffering due to rich, potlical class or callous family and society. This is why poorest masses liked his films and saw themselves in his characters.
But repetitive is repetitive. Even Deewar (great movie) and Trishul had similar type angle.

Trishul borrowed many elements from the director's previous film Waqt. The rivalry between the two brothers over the heroine who prefers the younger brother, the law-breaking elder son who brought up himself vs the sophisticated educated younger son etc. Jackie Shroff-Rajnikant starrer Uttar Dakshin later borrowed heavily from Trishul. But here they gave more importance to the father's second wife and her moral dilemma. The Malayalam film Meen borrowed the core idea of Trishul and set it in Fishing industry instead of the Construction Industry and wrote out the younger brother and instead inserted a sister thus paring it down to a father-son story. It's so interesting to see how the same story changed over the years and each director put his stamp on it. Quite a change from the scene-to-scene remakes these days.

Bigotry is from South Indians too who hate North Indians and also use terms like cowbelt for North.
Or think they are more intellectual and literate while North ones are gawaar.
Whole of social media is full of hate and snooty attitude of South Indians against North Indians. Or feeling superior or more progressive and educated compared ro North or better standard of living or being better than North on all indices.
Nowadays failure of BW is also used to bash North, Hindi speakers and Hindi speaking audience and feel superior in South cinema and South Indian artists and culture.
Not to forget the hate and loathing they have against Hindi and Hindi speakers.
Who says BW never made crap films? You are taking only one comment and taking it as personal attack.
We said it was remakes like Ready, Wanted, Bodyguard etc which ruined along with bad remakes of old BW films or talentless actors and bad scripts. No one said BW was perfect until South Indian remakes came.
So stop taking it other way.
Bollywood made good or classic content till early 60s or when Basu Chatterjee and Hrishikesh Mukherjee types existed. Otherwise since 80s it has been downhill mostly.
Masala remakes were crap. And it will be called out for what it is.
Bollywood even ruins old songs with bad remixes. Does or mean we blamed old Hindi films or songs?
LOL! It is other way round rather and I see South Indians call most North Indians cowbelt walas, panipuri sellers, bhaiyas etc and whatnot. Or taunts like Hindians due to their hate for Hindi as a language.
Later crying bigotry is weird.
Anyway I did not use any Madrasi type taunt for Southern India actors so please spare me the rants on this.
