Most of us have seen ddlj, hank, kkhh, 3 idiots, jab we met multiple times. One can watch these movies again and again even after knowing the plot and dialogue and songs. But the same cannot be said about movies made in 2010s and later. Any reason.

The answer lies in your query!

Post 2010 was all south style action and dialogue era.

Before there was heavy focus on romance and comedy balanced with other aspects and all the actors were fun to remember the movies.

Now the movies since 2010 are all like chewing gums.

I agree with a recent statement by Lucky Ali if anyone knows.

Name some south style action dialogue hits done by Bollywood. Please do tell us how those are diff from Amitabh movies of the 80s.

South makes really good cinema. Just because BW has only attention span enough for the low brow kind, doesn't mean the rest of us don't watch good movies.

Because most artistes lack connect and screen presence of previous artistes like Khans, Rani, Kapoor sisters, Preity, HR, Ash and even supporting cast are not of level of Sharman Joshi etc.

Newcomers are plastic or look alike. Most films are remakes and not original. Writing is really bad. Actors are more known for real life than reel work or onscreen talent and most seem to look alike. Lack uniqueness. Films are on subjects no one can relate to. Where are relatable movies like TZP, 3 Idiots or music or cast and content that appeals to emotions like RDB, Lagaan, HAHK, DDLJ, Pardes, Border etc?

Films are also not clean. Too many explicit scenes and dialogues. Earlier films could be seen with whole family. In last decade only Dangal was a film which could be seen with whole family and had good content.

Films are also made to showcase one hero or heroine. The rest of the cast does not gel well the way it did in 3 Idiots or KKHH or even HSSH where they all looked like family.

No good music or character actors or villains. Only marketing and hype.

Forget repeat value. I cannot even sit through first watch of these post 2010 films.

We as a collective have shorter attention spans and gazillion other options to pick and choose from compared to the past. So why bother with the basic stuff

Please. Amitabh films.had context and aspect of justice and message on plight of poor, disenfranchised. Salim Javed wrote really good scripts and solid dialogues. The cast was talented too. Shakti for eg is a father and son conflict. Coolie is about disenfranchised, orphan and child labour affected hero. Amitabh films were never as shallow as crap South remakes today which have no context or good writing or good acting. Amitabh films also avoided graphic violence despite action films and atleast till mid 80s, his films had no vulgarity either or double meaning dialogues. Even Agneepath is a classy revenge cum gangster saga with no cheap scenes.

Amitabh's crap is mostly films like Mard, Ganga Jumna Saraswati.

Alot of his movies were great. But some of the later ones got repetitive. I’m not saying Laawaris and Shaarabi weren’t fun. They are very watchable but both seemed to follow the same formula.

Please... you won't find movies like D16 or Mercury or Vikram Vedha or Kumbalangi Nights or Virus or Joji or Great Indian Kitchen in Bollywood.

Those are movies have quality.

Not to mention entertainers like Bahubali and RRR. The rest of the world would agree.
