Junoon(Mouni) had that vash power to which Mohan couldn't do anything.
Vanarastra is for speed, behave like monkey(King). That was overconfidence of Mohan that there we're only 2 villain, so he didn't kill them or harm them severely.
Writer wanted Mohan"s character's death, so he added that flaw.
Bas yhi. Lazy writing aur kya.
FInally watched the movie. Here's my review.
The Good:
Amitabh's voiceover in the beginning, the art, the BGM and one thing that I feel not enough ppl are talking about is how stunning they made all the Indian cities on big screen, from Mumbai's chawls, the Durga Puja Pandal, Varanasi (don't know if that Ashram was in India) but all those places looked stunning retaining their uniqueness at the same time.
The Visual effects deserve a special mention, really well done for any Indian film and give the film the grand look. All the fight scenes are also really good and keep you engaged.
Mouni Roy-She makes an amazing villain and the only time you are not hating a character speaking. From her dialog delivery to her actions she's awesome in every scene she appears.
The Bad:
Alia. But the surprising thing is I didn't hate her as much as I expected to. She was just playing Alia and that was fine(I guess). It was her character screaming SHIVAAAAAA and kaun ho tum.....that annoyed me the most.
I just kept wishing her character to die especially when Tenzin died saving her.😭
Also SRK's cameo...it was so good to see him onscreen after so much time but WTH were those dialogs. And they used Mohan Bhargava for that cringy shit. Did Mr. Bhargava lose his brain cells when he joined Brahmansh. They literally wasted him along with Nagarjuna.
The Worse:
The screenplay....It was so choppy. They could've done a much better job with that, reduced the no. of Alia-Ranbir scenes, chopped off that Harry Potter learning magic shit. And the songs...what a letdown except Kesariya, all the songs were so meh.
The Worst of the worst:
Ranbir- RK looked like a dumb blonde who is hot until she opens her mouth. Why in the world RK looked like he was adapting VD's coolie no 1 char. And did he completely forget how to act? Can't believe how bad and out of place RK looked in the whole movie. Especially when he met AB, all the time I wanted to stab his throat with Guruji's astra.
That Damned love story- BW tries to cram love story everywhere but still can't make a believable love story even on gun point. They meet and he madly falls for her. She lives in a palace but no one cares if she leaves with an unknown person to an unknown place.... 😕 and why is Isha always narrating everything. I get using her as an exposition device but there's a difference between exposition and commentary. Also RK-Alia have no chemistry at all.
DIALOGS- They should fire their dialogue writer for the next two movies. I have seen my 14 year old cousins talking more maturely than this. 98% of all the dialogs are sooooo cringe that u can feel your brain cells dying everytime any char opens their mouth.
Overall Brahmastra is equally good and bad at the same time. It is definitely made for big screen along with that amazing BGM, which is a big plus.
One thing that irritates/hurts you the most is you can clearly see what it is and what it could've been. This movie could've achieved the cult status like DCU and MCU with one single movie in it's franchise had it been handled by an experienced director and better actors.
PS: Go with your friends so atleast you can laugh and make fun of all the cringy dialogs. There was a group of friends beside me and their commentary was more fun than the entire movie dialogs.😆

@bold: Me too. When she falls off that building, I was actually glad that maybe she's gone now or captured or something. And then when she goes all 'Tenzu', I was cheering for Mouni to kill her 😆
@blue: This. I thought it was just me. I mean RK is a good actor but don't know what happened to him in this one. And did no one notice in their entire team that he's acting so off? Almost like no one cared how the leads were acting or what there story was coz sabka dhyan VFX pe tha.

@bold- NGL at one time I was cheering for Mouni to kill both the BF and GF to help us get rid of their cringy act😆
Yeah, RK did not suit the Brahmastra world at all. His Wake up Sid char was more mature than this. Also Physical acting is not RK's thing. He should retire himself into playing sophisticated/emotional characters like Rajneeti or Tamasha. This was so out of his comfort zone. Felt he was just reciting lines.
@blue- I find no other explanation for this atrocity.

Could be.
It could very well be Amrita . But i think it has something to do with daddy more than mommy 😆
I can't wait for shiva to dev

Or maybe it's just something Ayaan picked up from HP. Zyada dimag nahi lagaya usne 😆
They were humans, right? Vanarastra should have been able to overpower humans because when the other guy was using Vanarastra, we saw its potential of destruction
Junoon had some Astra of her own right? Those black ropes? considering they (villains) were jumping on and off heights as if there was trampoline at the bottom. They had kavach Astra and they could read mind so Mohini (?) Astra😆

There is Hp reference s course. But I do think it is some sort of father-son mind connection going on
Dev s look was very similar to Jalandra. Who was born when Shiva opened his third eye. He was basically a demon who wanted to conquer the world
Here, they have modified the story. The son is the good guy and the father is probably going to be the bad guy
