So, I finally watched it. Yeah!!!!! God, I have waited so long for this movie to release. smiley36

I do hope they make part 2. The possibility with Atraverse is endless

I think Ranbir is Dev. I recognized him by his hands. I hope he gets to play dev. He deserves it

See, here

Also, Isha's character needs more work. I get what Ayan was trying to do with her. She was supposed to audience stand in. Still, Alia can do way better. I have always liked the way Ayan writes his female characters. So hope he gives Alia more material in part 2

Also, can we discuss the mind connection thing Going on between Shiva and other characters.? Do you think it has something to do with him being Dev s son?

I mean if you noticed, he puts on his anklet and says that its not a normal "Paayal", (I believe writer wrote dialogues in English and translated them in Hindi because anklet = Paayal makes sense only on Google translator), its Vanarastra and he flies off to the roof and we see that amazing visual but what was the point of it?

He didn't make an escape, he didn't hurt people in Mouni's gang and they were puny humans, what was he trying to do there?

Tagging a few from first 3 pages

By fooling Zor & Raftaar, Scientist Saab got in overconfidence that he has Dodged the bullet. He used as much Power just to avoid capture. He wasn't expecting Mouni, which took him by Surprise & he got caught in her Vash.

The point where he was sure his powers can't save him, he slided from balcony.

Towards the climax, the first time Shiva lights up the fire to burn Junoon's militant group, they survive because as long as they are wearing the red colour tabeez they cannot die by fire but later when Shiva uses the fire sword to kill them, they easily die despite wearing the same tabeez. How? I was confused.

I finally managed to watch this movie... For SRK😳... part was cool. it's gonna be a long post with spoilers. Mohan was witty, confident and clever❤️ His end broke my heart wish he'd lived🥺 even Nandi Astra was not impressive much.. they're both brilliant actors and I wish Ayan had utilised their potential. Hopefully Dev would provide them some more footage considering Gurukul and stuff.... But if they were playing gatekeepers for brahmastra I doubt they'd be featured anymore.

Alia was weakest in the movie IMO, we could have done without many of her "Shivaaaa" and philosophy. Romance seems forced, why didn't they try childhood friends or something?

Ranbir put hardwork and it showed but both he and Alia don't have that larger than life screen presence that was demanded off them.. He played his part well so I'd give it to him considering he understands his Full potential in the climax. AB was good, the dialogues were next level cringe🤢My brain got hanged at "Light Roshni hai" for a second... I hope they work on it.

All 3 villains rocked their roles👏

Mouni acted brilliantly to the point I was rooting for her to finish in her style😛 the kid's death was totally unnecessary though I hope this not the end for her character and we see more of her. Would be rooting for her career in BW if she tries.

About story: A very obvious story not at all original but hopefully Bollywood experiments more in future.

Background: Story has no mythology references but inspired obviously. Ayan tried creating his own mythology which was inspired by some Hollywood and asian flicks...There was no research or book reading done, no Indian culture or anything. it's Ayan's Astra verse with bunch of elite looking characters playing elite positions for the world which for a change is not NY but India. Be anything, I hope they make more with Astra verse. A Swadeshi parallel universe would be cool. There are glaring loop holes which I'm surprised nobody noticed with how long it took for release. Astra verse has its own brahmadeva, hopefully it has its own devadideva too.

Expectations from part 2: hopefully less cringey romance, well placed songs, a story from villain's perspective and not how everyone preaching Dev is wrong.

Having said that i really really wish someone would tweak a world actually based on Indian mythology. Not stories from puranas or Vedas but create an actual world like Russos did

More like being Amrita's son, she didn't was Dev to have control over brahmastra. Or maybe the shankh calling out to him... Do your job protect me!😛

I think he cuts off tabeez and they get out of hypnosis and faint. They're innocent farmers I don't think they'd be killed

They were humans, right? Vanarastra should have been able to overpower humans because when the other guy was using Vanarastra, we saw its potential of destruction

Junoon(Mouni) had that vash power to which Mohan couldn't do anything.

Vanarastra is for speed, behave like monkey(King). That was overconfidence of Mohan that there we're only 2 villain, so he didn't kill them or harm them severely.

Writer wanted Mohan"s character's death, so he added that flaw.

The movie was fine. It has been a very long time since I have seen a Bollywood film in theaters and I had a pleasant time for the most part. The visuals are nice to look at, it's colorful and Ayan keeps the frames engaging. This seems to be made with kids in mind, and it shows. Especially the last minute wind kid.

The film could have easily been shortened by 30 minutes straight. Cut SRK's cameo by half, trim the whole Miss Pergerine's Home/Camp-Half Blood sub-plot and maybe send Alia away for a while.

The actors except SRK and Mouni were clearly not comfortable with CGI and it does show. Ranbir is just playing Ranbir, SRK is just playing SRK, Alia is just playing Alia. Though Alia didn't have much to do either. I kept expecting her to wield something or be the big bad or do something at all. Maybe Amitabh could have been the villain, anything. I really dislike when they don't resolve the conflicts neatly and leave almost everything for sequels. The whole climax feels underwhelming.

Overall it is fine. I mean I see everyone talking about the cringe dialogues and the plot point. But I don't see how Alia-Ranbir's constant kya ho, kyu hu, Kaise ho, kabse ho no worse or better than your average superhero film dialogues like "let's Scooby-doo this shit" or "Illumi-whati".
