Brahmastra -Review and Box Office thread *Pls Do Not post Spoilers* - Page 87

As a weekend treat, I took my nephews to the movie, and they had a great time.

I simply want to say that Brahmastra is a pretty good movie for kids, so if you have any movie-loving kids, consider taking them to watch it, I’m sure they’ll have a good time too 😊.

I’ll try to keep my review as spoiler free as possible.

• The movie's VFX is impressive, much better than they appeared to be in the trailer. 👍🏼
• Although the songs are average, the background music is great.
  
• The less said about immature dialogues, the better.
  
• SRK had brilliant screen presence, audience in my theatre went crazy with whistles during fight sequence 😆.He should continue doing such meaty cameo roles rather than those in TubeLight or ADHM. This was likely his best cameo role.
  
• Despite working hard, Ranbir's lethargy and ageing are noticeable in a few scenes. But you could see his investment in this project👍🏼. He was good, not phenomenal but good .
  
• Mouni was competent; she stood her ground in front of movie stars. She surprised me with performance 👏, way better than I expected.
• The love story consumed unnecessary amount of screen time while offering very little worthwhile. Isha is just a glorified annoying flower pot female lead . Her scenes were boring .
  
• Big B and Nagarjuna were nice, I was hoping to see them a bit more.
  
• The backstory of Astra wasn't as substantial as it should have been. But I liked the world Ayan has tried to build , i appreciate his efforts ⭐️ . I so wished he had worked more on it & come up with better dialogues & screenplay , so much of lost potential

If they hadn't pushed AstraVerse & Love Story, I think people would have criticised it less. It is obvious that the Astraverse angle was contrived in order to impress the audience, but no research was carried. They essentially raised peoples' expectations, which they then failed to meet.

Movie is not terrible as critics are saying but it also doesn't have a lot of repeat value.

Overall, watch it to fill the time and enjoy a theatrical experience. Expect a decent fantasy film with amazing VFX, not a great mythological plot & you won’t be disappointed.

{ I am intrigued by Dev & Amrita’s Story , I hope Ayan gets the chance to make part 2 , with better script and dialogues though 😆)

If Brianna going again to watch in spite of not liking it much - you can only imagine the repeat value 😆

Have different Kesariya versions already been released?

Prior to watching the movie, I doubt I had heard the female version.

Those who saying younger cast should have been , pls note RK was 13 younger when he started this movie

I have to give it to him to believe in this product He kept going and going , getting older and older … imagine being called budha fir this movie but he kept going ..

if this movie helps Bollywood in any way , well thanks to entire team of brahmastra

Brahmastra On Course To Emerge A HIT

It has been a long time coming but finally there is light at the end of tunnel as Brahmastra is on course to emerge a HIT as it shows a good jump on Saturday. The jump is not huge in terms of percentage but its excellent trending for a film of this size and more importantly where the jumps are coming.

North India and Gujarat / Saurashtra have show excellent jumps on Saturday meaning these circuits which run the distance are now on board for the film. Also across the Hindi belt which could have easily dropped today the film is very steady and even up in some of these circuits. The Hindi verson came in at around 31 crore nett on Friday as a couple of circuit numbers came in lower and the Saturday number is looking to be 37 crore nett. There is a drop in languages but still that side could get around 3.5-4 crore nett in but the story is about the Hindi version now.

Despite the very good opening day there was a concern that it was being driven by the Southern states and though it was due to the partial holidays it is still not ideal for a Hindi film to have South leading but that has all changed on Saturday as core Hindi markets come to the forefront.

A circuit like Gujarat / Saurashtra will jump from around 2.75 crore nett to 3.75 crore nett and there will be more to come tomorrow. This was a key area as it signals other Hindi mass markets are now sure to jump tomorrow with Gujarat likely to be showing biggest jump. There were many B centres in East Punjab which were on the lower side but Saturday has seen that turnaround.

The wait is always for Monday when it can become a certified HIT but the signs are good of acceptance for the film and hopefully Sunday will push it further. the two day collections in Hindi should be around 68 crore nett while all formats will be around 76 crore nett plus.
