I disagree. Vfx was not hollywood level instead it was very amateur. Very OTT color that during climax it hurt my eyes. But it was definitely a good attempt from bollywood.
I found it at level with hollywood ofc they have bigger budget. To each his own
One time watch, maybe only for the VFX. Could still sit through the first time since it was quite good but the film went downhill post interval. It was a complete mess. The film hardly had any story to begin with nor any memorable dialogues to take home. I didn't cringe at the dialogues much though because this level of amateurish writing is expected from Dharma. Was also annoyed with the acting. Plus he didn't seem to be in his element too. He has really lost his mojo and charm as an actor. He used to have such a good screen presence but here he was just so dull and dry but still he was bearable despite the weird dialogue delivery but Alia and Mouni were absolutely trash.
Can't believe it's the same Alia from Gangubai playing such an annoying character like Isha in such an annoying way with horrible dialogue delivery. Her only job in the film was to shout Shiva and play a flowerpot but she couldn't even manage to do that well. Mouni can't even move a single facial muscle, such a lacklustre antagonist along with her two loonies one of whom keeps shouting like a buffalo throughout the film.
The vfx was really good and the hard work shows but after a point it just gets so repetitive to see the same fire effect everywhere. The whole climax is a mess and absolutely pointless. Add to that it's never ending and filled with blinding effects that just throws you off the film.
This film needed a younger protagonist. Watching a 40 yr old Ranbir running around like a kid in a candy store was weirdly funny. My favorite part of the movie was the training montage of the new students in the Ashram because of that. Shiva should've been someone like Tenzing whose origin story we see in the first part where he slowly starts getting introduced in the world of astras and getting to know his powers and gradually with the other parts he grows up and becomes more powerful just like Harry Potter which 'influenced' (🤭) Ayan quite a bit in the film. They could've done the love story maybe in the second part when he grows up and just focussed on mythology for this part but NO, unhein toh hugna hi tha and made the whole film into a silly outdated romantic film.
