What’s the narrative you’re choosing to believe here? How did Kartik “leave KJo in the red” when all of KJo’s PR reported Kartik being kicked out of Dostana 2? Very SSR-esque type blinds and rumours were spreading about him. Be careful what you choose to believe. If he was buttering up KJo, I’d actually argue he’s a smart guy if it worked. You do what you gotta do to survive in an ultra nepotistic industry where almost everyone wants the outsider to fail (or at least not be as popular as their insider favs)

Dharma PR suggested he got kicked out?

Dharma girls badmouthed him on TV.

He's using outsider hat? How? His movies actually succeeded because they're entertaining.

And if he buttered up KJo to see what he could get, KJo buttered up Karthik after his back to back successes. It would've been a mutually beneficial relationship. Even when it ended, Karthik didn't say a word. It was all Dharma and Dharma girls.

Let's say you're right, and Karthik did take advantage. He didn't snatch people's work. He networked like most other people. Or is the peeve that outsiders aren't humble enough or don't play doormat? It's a dog eat dog world, friend. Karthik played his cards well. Shrewdly and as ethically as possible under the circumstances IMO.

And I don't think even his fans are suggesting he's a great actor. He's an entertainer, and he picks entertaining scripts. Good enough for now.

to ask for more money after you have signed the movie and it's halfway done, is unprofessional, the articles said he was kicked out for asking more. and he is good but he isn't Bollywood's savior. the bhool bhulaiya song has been a hit for years, and the akshay one is definitely more entertaining. and most everyone said bb2 worked because of tabu but because she lays low her credit nowhere. and people forget the movie was directed by anees bazmi, I don't think I need to elaborate his success.

Karthik is smart and definitely has a great strategy. In Anupama show, Ram Madhav said that he was smart, had a great strategy and hungry for work

. He is not the best actor out there, but he is an entertainer he is great in comic and emotional roles, can dance. He is a hustler for sure and it is a great thing. In spite of having a fall out with Dharma, he received more fame and went on to sign more movies. Hell KJO was like you better come on my show Karthik. Nothing speaks like success and it is a dog eats dog world

That is the problem with many people in Bollywood, they have taken the audience too lightly concentrated on glamour than actual content.

The outsiders in Bollywood and south stars have in common are hungry to prove themselves be it Karthik or Kriti or Sid Chaturvedi plus they watch movies theirs and Hindi and south cinema unlike many Bollywood stars who say they do not watch their movies. I mean if you do not watch your own industry movies who else will.

Karthik was not bitter, he was assertive and actually spoke the truth. Masand was wrong so he had no idea how to counter. Jhanvi is not smart and without a or team cannot speak at all so both had to bear it.

I see some people have an issue with Kartik not being the best when it comes to acting

Please go and apply these high standards of acting you are referencing to people like Varun, Arjun, Tiger, Janhvi, Sara, Ananya who in my opinion are worse than Kartik but nobody has an issue when they get film after film despite getting worse with each film.

Kartik has lots of potential and it’s hardwork is very evident. He is a much better actor than the dead in the eyes nepo kids we have

Would you consider Sid to be an insider the same way Ranbir Kapoor or Alia is?😆

Look, I don't have a problem with nepotism. Some amount of it is even necessary because humans are built greedy and self-centered and will only invest in what benefits them. Problem comes when genuine outsiders are deliberately kept down to favor the insiders.

The son of an accountant to the stars gets access. Nepotism and access are 2 majorly different things. Sid (I assume) was not part of the industry. He had some access to it. That's it. He didn't get movies made for him.

What did he say to Anupama?

Anupama kept on insinuating how being an outsider is more advantageous, how being insecure as an outsider makes you push yourself harder something like that and Kartik didn't take bait, instead went on to counter how if he was an insider also he would have pushed himself just as hard but with more resources and backing.

Also talked about media & industry's eagerness to write off outsiders after 1 flop and how this perception is created.
