Salman & Aamir have given 300+ Cr films at lesser age than Amitabh was in 90s. Hindi films Top 4 grossers are with Aamir & Salman only, yet to cross by any other star. This Amitabh wasn't holding. Salman & Srk broke all grossing records with HAHK & DDLJ. Situations tab bhi alag thi, aaj bhi alag hai.

Salman in 2019 & Aamir in 2018 has given 41 Cr & 48 Cr opening, 40+ Cr opening which only Hrithik & Tiger's WAR crossed, which later on couldn't reach 300.

Khans just need that 1 film & they will be back.

Well said man. But they cannot take past records for granted either. I do hope they get that one film and are back with same hysteria they created earlier and won critical and commercial acclaim.

Aamir has been on amazing streak since Lagaan. If not records, he would always win over acclaim or have positive social impact. It is sad what happened with TOH and LSC.

I remember seeing more noise for Govinda in one song for brief moment in Wanted than I saw for SRK in LSC. Yeh toh hadh hi ho gayi. I never thought there would be such lack of surprise or happy reaction to see SRK in an Aamir film or see Aamir talk of SRK in his film. I am genuinely sad today as a 90s fan.

BW as a whole needs to change. Too many remakes , heroes romancing actresses of their’s daughters age, rubbish directors still getting funded , vomit inducing songs and singers . Now everyone has access to global cinema so why would they spent money on sub standard BW ?

Good to see this video. But where I saw this film at PVR, there was no reaction from audience either at entries of Aamir and Bebo or for SRK.

Just some crying in some scenes on 1984, Nag's death and Mona Singh's death scene or last scene at Bebo's grave.

I have seen same PVR burst in whistles at even names of Khans in credits earlier. So the sheer contrast was hard to handle today. Sorry for sounding negative and I do not mean to demean Khans. They are my childhood.

BTW I saw less reaction to trailers of Brahmastra also and its makers better be careful with promotions and promote film well, avoid controversy.

Khair I do feel LSC is least promoted Aamir film in decades and I wonder why he kept it so low key...the promotion and editing could be better and save the film.

Bhai it's not a new thing, Rajesh Khan(41) romanced Tine Munim(26) in Souten, and the film was a hit. This age-difference concept has been developed in the last few years by critics only to further put it in the audience's mind, but the audience has never cared for this.

This is easily their downfall phase like AB had when films like Agneepath, Ganga Jumna Saraswati, Akayla etc began tanking. And he was in early 50s.

I felt sad seeing total lack of excitement for an Aamir film or for an SRK cameo in an Aamir film. A decade ago if it happened it would have caused fire at BO or trended online. Nobody gives a damn now...

I mean even Govinda's sudden brief appearance for a while in Wanted title song had better response from audience than this lack of excitement for SRK cameo in LSC.

On a side note, very few will achieve the legendary status of AB who can still hold his own at almost 80.

Okay but Jaya had left films in early 70s itself after marriage and worked only occasionally in films like Silsila later. Unlike Khans who are actively working. Jaya had retired from films earlier. And she hardly maintained herself unlike Khans who still have gym bodies and get all botox etc to look younger.

So no comparison to Khans now or Jaya in 2001.

Granted Amitabh made a huge mistake going into politics, or he would have been where the Khans are now with huge crore openers in the 2010s. He made political mistakes, overshot, and made enemies in the industry.

Salman's audience heavily overlaps with the youth audience interested in the latest top South grossers. He just needs to be careful, but his choice in movies sucks. KEKD script is garbage. Tiger franchise is the last hope.

SRK has audience but audience is not easily interested in his films. Jawaan is going to get into a lot of problems with boycotters but it'll do well. Dunki/Atlee seem more iffy, but it depends if Atlee has good script.

Aamir needs to take a hiatus, maybe produce films like he did with Secret Superstar, he seems to be the most hated by people. To be fair, he's also lost his vision, but he has the acting talent to pull off a Mohabbatein or something popular overseas.

Ajay may end up being the most critically successful, he's smart.

Akshay does not care what happens to his films so...eh.

Saif seems to keep digging himself in a ditch.

Jaya Bachchan wasn't even the top actress of her time though?

It was Hema Malini by a huge margin since Seeta aur Geeta. Then Zeenat and Rekha.

Sharmila, Parveen were also more popular.
