Varun says he manifested his own flops

During a sit down with Anupama Chopra, Varun was asked about his box office record and his answers were amusing.

At the 8 minute mark Anupama asks him about box office record. She mentions how in recent years his movies underperformed and he says that only two of his movies were flops, Kalank and Street Dancer3 (I think a few have but OK😆). Then he pulls a BOI/Gangu trick and makes sure to mention that SD producers made good money off of that movie. That’s when he says that it sounds bizarre but while making those movies he knew they wouldn’t work and he thinks he manifested his own flops. I imagine a lot of actors get a feeling that movie isn’t working the way it should either during production or afterwards. But I’m not sure why he says he manifested it? Is he just saying things for the sake of sounding deep or smart? Or is this his own insecurity at play here where he’s looking for some inexplicable answers to why his movies flopped?

It’s a quick watch interview. Varun is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I like Kiara. I’m starting to really like Neetu but she was very quiet. Anil talked more than Neetu.

also in bad taste and unprofessional to say you knew a film will flop while working in it

obviously it happens, i have heard several senior actors say it but it is more of a general statement when you don't really mention it in context of a specific movie and you have large career graph

😆 It’s possible he doesn’t know the word. I still think he’s trying to make his flops seem deeper than they are.

Yes he shouldn’t have commented on knowing the movie won’t work. But I’m not sure I believe him anyway. Everything about Kalank on paper was a big huge successes. I don’t think anyone even realized how bad it was during the making. Sanjay Dutt or Madhuri Dixit might have based on experience but not any of the younger ones. He also added that sometimes one signs a movie for money which he was probably referencing Kalank again. Wasn’t it rumored that he was paid 21cr for it? Again, he’s very focused on his status and his fan base. He wouldn’t have signed a movie just for money had he known it wouldn’t work.

Anil? He said the biggest in the world so I’m assuming Star Wars.

I think I lost a few braincells trying to figure out what he was saying there. Also he said the third party finds it funny when two people are separating/divorcing and it’s very normal for folks to troll the person asking kounsi wali ma etc. I mean in which world do these people live man. The world that I live in, it’s a serious matter and we know not to joke about it or make fun of these people.

Yea that was weird wasn’t it? Sounds like something the neighborhood bully would do and not a good friend. Kiara tried to say that maybe the laughing is a nervous laugh and he was like nope, it’s funny 🤦🏽‍♀️

I think what he means is kinda like “u attract what u fear” sorta thing

manifestation is usually used in a positive context Like u manifest the job u want, the outcome u want, the life u want …because the idea is if u fully want a positive outcome and don’t entertain any self doubt or negative thoughts and work towards it …it will work work out in ur favour …u attract good things coz u think good …

Whereas , I think he means he allowed himself to have doubt about the movies outcome, therefore manifesting the opposite of what he actually wanted …he thinks he may have attracted negativity because he entertained those doubts and had a fear in his mind abt the film

These nepo kids have a hard time accepting failure. They almost feel entitled to “success” as if it’s their birth right. He has given four flops in a row: October, Sui Dhaga, SD and Kalank.

I don’t care what anyone says, Sui Dhaga being a “semi hit” is not a hit. It’s not a clean hit. Dishoom was also not a clean hit. Neither was Dilwale.

Anything less than a Hit, is a fancy worded flop
