@ Bold: name one movie..if you are talking about HAHK, salman was a huge star even then..he was a craze right after MPK..madz may be bigger star but she did not hand him a BB for sure..

Salman had 6 flops before HAHK. He was not as big a craze after MPK as you are exaggerating.

Salman's fans have an interesting memory loss whenever HAHK is talked about. Before HAHK was even shot, several interviews were published in which journos asked Madhuri why she agreed to work with a flopping actor. To which this classy lady said that an actor cannot be successful all the time. That was, in a nutshell, Salman's pre-HAHK status.

Sridevi was the biggest superstar among her generation....she was called the female Amitabh Bachchan so u can imagine her stardom....before Sridevi it was Hema Malini....

People went for HAHK just to watch Madhuri..her dresses, her million dollar smile, her Aha!, the dances, even her coughing became famous. It was all about her. The second most talked about character was probably the dog😆.

Raja succeeded solely coz of her. Beta was called Beti inspite of having Anil Kapoor in the lead..can add Anjaam, Sailaab, Mrityudand to the list for whatever visibility they got.

Before Madhuri it was Sridevi..before her Rekha and HemaMalini. Heard that guys were totally crazy about Rekha. Uncles ki aankhein ab bhi chamak uthti hai unke naam se.

I personally liked Sridevi a lot more. She was a much better actress than Madhuri. But that doesn't take away from the fact Madhuri did achieve superstardom too. I wonder if Divya Bharti lived if Madhuri would have had more competition? Anyways pointless wondering about that stuff.

I liked Sridevi too...I am not saying that Madhuri was not a superstar....just saying that SriDevi was several notches higher when it came to stardom.....compared these 2 because they belong to the same generation...even in acting Madhuri is no where even close to Sridevi...Madhuri is an average actor at best...but yes she is pretty and a good dancer.

You think of HAHK you think of "Didi Tera Deva Deewana" now that does hit at one weakness I will show that she is mostly remembered for her musicals. But Madhuri shined throughout most of that song, from acting pregnant to teasing her sister, to making fun of Salman's character, Salman only comes in at the end. Nisha was a charismatic, bubbly, great sister, daughter, naive, mischievous, intelligent, traditional yet modern. Salman's character was mostly that of a lover boy. HSSH also had Salman but it didn't achieve the same success as HAHK. Because clearly it was Madhuri's charismatic screen presence that breathed life into Nisha and the movie.

If people aren't able to look beyond her terrific dances it isn't her shortcoming. She is charismatic, has a great screen presence and is a performer.

It's like how people aren't able to look beyond Aishwarya's beauty

We are going to have to agree to disagree here ! While I have seen all those films and commend her for trying to prove herself as an actress as well. She was always just good, decent, above average/average for me. Rarely marvelous! Like I said her screen presence def helped her as an actress. But I still never thought she was great. She was miles better than Aish though acting wise ! 👍🏼
