Now my question is how did Sonia fall in love with Raj? Just because he looked like Rohit? Does that mean she was in love with his appearance?

Or was it because Raj loved her and helped her find out about Rohitr's killers??

At any rate, it was a compromise, right??

I would have preferred if the Raj-Sonia love story was shown more, or why Sonia actually fell for him.

Thoughts???

I agree that they could have fleshed it out bit better .... how she falls for him, etc. But I don't agree that you fall in love only once. We are pretty resilient when life throws curveballs like the one it throws her way in the movie.

If the guy happens to be the super attractive dead ex's doppelgänger, is also head over heels in love with you and has a pretty kickass personality who protects you throughout the second half of the movie, to eventually bring your dead ex to justice and expose a bunch of bullshitters around you, pray tell WHY a girl wouldn't fall for him?!!! ☢️ He's literally her hero in the movie even if he's introduced to her life in a really weird way.

One's a cartoon character and the other's a former president but forgetaboutit. Scooby doo is Rohit and Jimmy Carter is Raj? 😆

The concept of falling in love only once is not true, we are very resilient and we can fall in love quite many times though that love might be different.

Rohit and Sonia love was the first intense love.

With Raj, Sonia did not love him for his looks, as she said he reminds her of her lost love. In India I think she saw Raj as someone who unconditionally loved her, was loyal and accepted even Rohit's brother as his own so she fell for him, Rohit and Sonia intense first love and Raj and Sonia a more mature easy going love, tbh, that is the concept that they were going for but they could have shown it better.

I think this is where HDDCS works, they showed the slow burn and respect between Ash and Ajay. From her first intense love with Salman to a very mature love with Ajay and her own maturity the journey shown was very beautiful

But to be honest when I first saw the movie it was Hrithik all the way and did not care about Rohit or Raj and was just glad that they had a happy ending.

Its a typical Bollywood film. Not some classic. Only people thirsting for Hrithik consider it as a great movie

It's just the usual thing that happened in BW movies and serials from that era...

If you liked someone who dies/goes missing/leaves and you later come across a lookalike (always played by the same actor 😆), you automatically fall in love with them, they obviously love you back, and it's happily ever after.

In those days a lot of makers clearly believed strongly in the "no logic, only magic" school of thought, and public didn't care as long as the movie was entertaining, had the right actors, and didn't reach Jaani Dushman levels of ridiculousness 😆

Indian audience wouldn't have accepted the movie if it wasn't a doppelganger

I think Sonia accepted Raj because he loved her and she probably didn't wanted him to lose his love as she knows that feeling. I don't think she loved him. She took a practical decision, ladka achha hai mere se pyaar karta hai so let's accept him. 😆It's as like as Nandini chose to stay with Vanraj in HDDCS though she didn't love him.

How did you reach that conclusion?

When you get a guy who looks like Hrithik in KNPH, you can fall in love with him 10000000s of times, trust me. 😆 I think you of all people shd understand this Minty, lol.

She was still missing Sameer even days after she was accidentally shot (that dholitaro song) that means she still had feelings for him. After Vanraj expressed his feelings in his drunken state she realized he loves her so much. Obviously she can't fall in love with him in one night. She realized just like he fulfilled his duty as a husband to keep his wife happy even if it meant taking her to her lover, she too has to fulfill her duty as a wife by choosing him over her lover. She just chose her duty over her love. We can safely assume she'll fall in love with Vanraj too after moving on from Sameer but it did feel like to me that she was still in love with Sameer but chose Vanraj because she understood the sanctity of marriage.
