Each ball, each boundary , each disappointment, each victory- everything was just so worth watching on the big screens. They should’ve released the movie in February. Anyway, bygones are bygones but the movie is here to stay- another classic in Ranveer’s kitty!

The whole movie was splendid and the best ever tribute to India's first WC win. I am glad the makers made it as realistic as they could with no ghisa pita drama and unnecessary love stories. The movie was to the point.

So many people on social media are saying they wish they watched 83 in the theatre, the movie is getting so much praise and its trending number 1 on netflix.

The movie definitely released at the wrong time, if it released in the summer it would have done so much better

Very flat feeling after watching the movie.

The one person who shined was Pankaj Tripathi. He was the only one who made the role his own. With everyone else it was like this are the dialogues, you have met the real person, now do as you wish.

I shouldn't feel disappointed because Kapil Dev is naturally a very charming person and good looking too. It was very big shoes for Ranveer to fill. It's when Ranveer lifts the trophy and then Kapil's old photo doing the same is shown, I felt the aura of the person that is Kapil Dev.

In Kapil Dev's own words. There can be only one Kapil Dev.

It did very well overseas. Only TKF is able to match(and supersede tbf) the way 83 was accepted here.

Just watched the movie on 83 and its such a beautiful movie. It not just gives lessons on patriotism but also teaches people how they should overcome their weaknesses, stay strong, fight till the end and never give up. The makers shouldn't have released it in cinema halls and instead released it on web long ago. It's a lovely movie.

83 deserves theatrical release. Timing of the release was not proper.

I wanted to see first day first show but cos of covid afraid to go to theaters.

Though desire to watch in cinema halls was so intense that finally saw it this month. Thank god it was still showing in theatres.

What a fantastic movie and a tribute to first World Cup win. ❤️

Everyone should watch in cinema halls.

All in my circle loved the movie.

Kapil Dev's knock against Zimbabwe in a must win match which was not recorded cos of bbc strike, finally got justice as they showed it in the movie. Was waiting to watch that. What a treat!

Yeah that scene was totally fictional and also I don't know [Spoiler alert] if that scene where Indira Gandhi asks her ministers to hype India playing well in WC to stop communal violence and spread unity through the medium of cricket is true or not but overall the movie was a wonderful tribute to India's win.

Apart from budget and wrong release time , i think people could not connect with the team of 83 as much as they did with Dhoni 's story . The runtime also will feel too much for someone who is not into cricket.

I don't think so plus India is still a cricket crazy nation. It was a very simple movie on how the Indian cricket team players overcome their weaknesses and try their best to win the cup and finally gain success. Maybe those people who expected to see Ranveer-Deepika romance may have felt disappointed. I remember some Ranveer-Deepika fans were expecting to see their romantic scenes even in Padmavati. 🙊😅
