I assure you, no one is going to watch this movie in the theatre and spend hard earned money JUST because Modiji did a photoshoot with the makers of the movie.🤦🏽‍♀️Just because someone’s politics doesn’t align with yours, doesn’t mean they don’t care about the cause.

Oh, I was not talking about the real world at all. I know that there are sane people in this world with empathy in their hearts for all those innocent victims and their plight. Kashmir Pandit exodus is an important subject that should be discussed and I am sure I would find many people in the real world who would genuinely care to discuss an important topic. My point was just regarding this thread. All members care here is kitna mahaan hai vs kitna barbaad haa modi baaki log jale, kate kya fark padta

It is sad to see so many people are unaware of the history. I read Rahul Pandita's (he is Kashmiri Pandit as well) book "Our Moon has blood clot" few years ago and I suggest you all read that instead of movie. The movie is indeed based on true events.

I always felt Kashmiri Pandit genocide/exodus was complete failure of the government. It was extrememly horrible and one can not even think to imagine about it. The central government of VP singh of that time, governer, state police, media everything just failed. People kept deliberate silence for their own agenda including BJP. The central gov at that time was supported by BJP and they still did not do enough. These political parties use pain of Kashmiri Pandit's just to serve their political agenda. Kashmiri Pandits deserve their safe space to tell their story, cry out, debate and it is our moral obligation to provide them that.

In Mahabharta there was a scene when Draupadi was extrememly angry after her cheerharan that she wanted every kaurav to die, she asked pandavas to kill Kauravas. Krishna came to her and asked her why does she want it. Draupadi says Kauravas insulted her and Kaurava should die for it. Then Krishna reprimands her asking if she wants "Revenge or Justice"? "If your soul has just anger, if it is just about you, then it is revenge but if you punish culprits with intention of social harmony, for larger good with no malign then is it Justice."

The problem with government's intentions here (NO I am not talking about KP's intentions but BJP's intentions) is that they want to use this incident, pain of Kashmiri Pandits to pit hindus against innocent muslim, incite the feeling of revenge in them. Majority of Kashmiri millennium gen people are not fighting with weapons. But the people in power will use past to justify their wrongdoings of today. Two wrongs can not make it right. We need to write off all these political parties A to Z from this and seek for JUSTICE for KPs. That will be true justice for them.

As fas as movie is concerned, It is very slow, long and screenpaly is quite lazy. The book invoked more feelings/emotions, anger in me than visuals of movie. Some characters did not have anything to do in the movie. Dialogues could have been better.

Such a well balanced post...👍🏼

@ bold..this is what is happening and it bothers me.....BJP and its supporters have managed to dilute the pain of KPs and make it about other things...🤔

There is absolutely no scene in the Mahabharata like that.

In fact, Panchali lectures both Yudhishtira and Krishna on justice and the duties of those in power.

Krishna is the one who goes into hyperbole and says he will commit genocide in response to the assault on her.

Krishna would never say such a thing. He reprimands Draupadi multiple times on how revenge shouldn’t take precedent over the wellbeing of common man!

There is the scene I mentioned in SP's version of recent Mahabharta. Now before you say it is not true Mahabharta, my stand is that there are hundreded of versions of Mahabharta and Vyasa might be the one who wrote it first but I take every author's version seriously. People write it with their different perspective and I believe in celebrating all versions.

There is no such scene in mahabharat at all . It's quite ironic that you start your sentence about how people are talking about the things they are unaware yet you quoted a completely fictional account about people you have absolutely no idea about. It was Panchali actually who differentiates between justice and revenge something Yudhishthira fails to understand. It was Krishna who wanted to kill karakas for what they did to Draupadi

I suggest you take some time to try and read the actual text instead of blindly believing whatever tv shows feed you

You people really need to read actual text instead of blindly believing what tv shows feed you . Krishna never reprimands draupadi you know why? because draupasi never wanted revenge
