Good VA made the movie, he has all the right in the world to do so, and from the review the movie seems to be a well-researched, well-made movie. I hope this makes a superhit and triggers people to read more om this. But instead of questioning Avishek Baxi (who honestly I dont know that is, or what he said, my apologies running short on time), it’s time to question Govt. who needs to produce progress reports on helping the KPs back as they claim to do. If Govt provided 1 statistics in 7 yrs, then question on the follow up, or ask to share the plan. The anger, the constant questioning needs to be directed at the Govt, because that is working towards solution. After all they have been voted to serve and answer to public. Why what Abhishek Baxi or Mr. XYZ says should matter or be the focal point of discussion ? Only if you could see how the current Govt is playing EVERY damn person in the country by making them fight with each other. Divide and rule at its best display.

Anyways, have a good day. Have to go. GN !

Because the subject of the movie has nothing to do with the government or the economy. It's not about whether civilians are responsible for anything or not, it's about people who try to shit on the movie by calling it 'propaganda' and stuff.

See, this is the thing.

If secular people ignore certain atrocities in the name of maintaining peace with a protected minority, it will come back to bite you. If you don't tell those stories, somebody else will, and that somebody might have an agenda you don't like.

This storytelling issue is actually personal to me as it's not just about Kashmiri Pandits. I was once told by a very woke young Indian that I was a bigot for referring to 11/26 attacks as Islamist terror. The piece she took objection to was actually about a young doctor who got killed by a stray bullet. Wrong place, wrong time. It wasn't focused on religion, just on one person who was killed needlessly. But I got called a bigot.

So the next story centered on the attack might be done by a writer who won't give a damn about being called a bigot. The focus might be religion there. Actually, forget *might.* I can almost guarantee that a movie will be made on such events now that TKF is a bona fide hit.😆

Thankful that this movie seems factual from all reports, though.

Request to fellow liberals: treat everyone equally. Which means don't lower expectations for a minority community in terms of behavior, education, politics, etc. Or there will be backlash.

The Baahubali team also met Modi, Anupam wife is a BJP MP so easier access. The whole Bollywood kind of boycotted the film complete silence while praising gangubai to the skies.

The movie was released after the UP elections so BJP did not gain from the movie.

I don't think Kashmir Files could have been released during Congress rule. As nobody from BJP was involved it was easier to release the movie.

Unfortunately the KP issue which was gut wrenching was never a part of main stream media or even a political debate and were highly ignored and this just happened 30 years ago.

While Article 15 was a brilliant movie and based on real life incidents, the actual incident was done by the Yadav community, however the makers kept it as a higher caste community as they were afraid to alienate the community and the makers were friendly with the SP party.

Hard hitting movies should be made and there are many real life stories in India that need to be told. FOE should be applicable to all ideologies, left centre and right

It is VERY CLEAR who would have initiated this photo-op in the first place.

Wohi aadmi jo kaam kare ya na kare, credit lene ke liye line mein sabse aage khada rehta hai. He rushed to grab this perfect photo op moment to imprint his name with the success of TKF team.

I am sure in his next election speech he will say, no filmmaker had the guts to make such a movie while congress was ruling and only our supreme leader has enabled such an atmosphere where such movies can now be made.

kaun hai woh...bolo bolo kaun hai woh??😕

anyways....blame lene ke liye toh ooper Nehru ji hain na...toh bacha kya...credit....toh woh bhi naa lein??

What BS. Hum se poocho yaar. I’ll tell you the stories of my ancestors. The gold and all material belongings they buried overnight in a house they never returned to. Leaving with the bare minimum. Homeless overnight. Stories of men killing their own women to avoid them getting raped. Ask anyone who has family that were affected in the partition and you’ll find many parallels. Many of us can empathise and are outraged that it took this long for the KP stories to come out but also relieved that finally their story is out. Trolls will always exist on both sides of the political spectrum, doesn’t mean they make up the majority.

The way entire focuse has shifted from kp to modi says alot . My heart goes out to all those poor victims jinko zindagi barbaad hoagyi . I am sure that there are people out there who genuinely care . But those people are certainly not this thread . No they are not. All people here care about is modi . People who care about how great is modi and people who care about how horrendous is modi . Bas . People on both sides are responsible for stretching the issue. But who cares? It takes nothing away from the film and the ripples it’s created. I assure you, no-one is going to watch this movie in the theatre and spend hard earned money JUST because Modiji did a photoshoot with the makers of the movie.🤦🏽‍♀️Just because someone’s politics doesn’t align with yours, doesn’t mean they don’t care about the cause.

Think you’ve hit the nail with this one. If you fail to address the issue and brush it under the carpet, it will come to bite you in the ass some day. A discourse absolutely needs to happen. A discourse is not equivalent to saying you deserve to suffer and be hated for what has happened in the past. Address the issues to avoid history being repeated.
Whether people like to admit it or not, 26/11 was a product of Islamic terrorism. Is the point still valid that Muslims themselves have been hugely affected by these stereotypes, particularly in the West and are often victims of terrorism themselves? Yes. Does that mean the discourse should stop about ISIS, Al Qaeeda, the brutalities of the Taliban etc? No.
