The box office and film industry is back and so is Shahrukh Khan as the Yash Raj Films produced Pathan sets a date of Republic Day weekend on 25th January. The makers were hoping for a Diwali 2022 release but the shooting of the film got delayed to year end 2022.

There is a chance that the film could be ready by Christmas 2022 which would mean an earth shattering initial overseas but there is a huge backlog of films with the VFX companies due to covid. This is not just Indian films but films across the world so the safer date is taken of 5 weeks later as there is a good amount of VFX work on Pathan.

The last decade saw films from Shahrukh Khan underperform at the box office but history says this tends to happen with huge stars with a romantic image at a certain age and generally these huge stars do not come back but it will be different with Shahrukh Khan as he is much more than a romantic star.

What finally happens a with film can never be judged before release but what can be said is that this film will take initials like very few films have before across the world because it is that traditional ALL INDIA MASS FILM for Hindi audiences across the globe and these are a rarity today. On top it has one of the biggest superstars ever of Hindi cinema coming back after a few years.

Will we stop judging the khans for box office records now?!. they are for god's sake 57 yrs of age!!. In three yeaes they ll be senior citizens. To mock them for not being at the top of their game at this age is ridiculous. The elan that SRK holds over BW is never going to get repeated.
