I've never been good with essays, writing or reading... in school I used to dread homework where they asked us to write one. I used to be a good boy, help my mum in her chores and stay in her good books so she would help me out with essay writing...

Once such essay she wrote for me got approval from my teacher and he said he was going to put that up on the notice board. Terrified, I confessed that it was written by my mum. He still went ahead and put the piece of paper on the notice board, with a note -- this is submitted by "my name", however written by "my name's" mother...

Next time 3 of my friends came home and requested her to write one for them as well... she had some really beautiful words for me and never wrote anything again...

My mom loves imagining health issues as well. One time she was just absolutely sure she had developed heart issues. My dad kept telling her there’s nothing wrong with her heart but she won’t listen and would act like she was dying. So my dad finally gave in and took her to her doctor.

The doctor told mom the same. (She was already used to her imaginary illness syndrome). But my mom won’t budge. She was so sure she had a heart ailment, that doctor turned to my dad and said ki “kuchh nahi hua hai, lekin inke mann ki tasalli ke liye test kar lete hain”. And of course, there was nothing wrong.

I was eagerly and also kinda worriedly waiting at home to know what happened when they came back with my mom looking embarrassed and dad looking frustrated. 😆

Also remembered another one.

We always keep CNG/ taxi numbers saved in our mobile so that we can call them when going out. So there was this driver whose name was similar to my Mausi's husband's name. And my Mausi's husband is a grumpy doctor. So once me and my family were going out and I searched his name in my mother's mobile and called him. I called him and said "Bhaiya, pick us up we wanna go to this place", he replied "who is this?", I asked him "Aren't you S CNG wala?", He was like "what? WHAT?", I then realized his voice is quite similar to my khalu, and then I hanged up the call. 😬

Along those same lines, I went an extra mile last year and totally convinced myself that I was at stage 4 of a cancer that the doctors obviously missed during all the routine visits cuz they didn't know any better. Took me multiple trips, appointments and all the comprehensive tests available to convince me otherwise.😆 NEVER google your symptoms is a lesson I learned the hard way!

🤣 Girl. Stage 4 of all things? I was still stuck in stage 1 of cancer with my diagnosis but you just took it to the next level. You were going to administer yourself into palliative care at this point.
