He can't handle the fact that Hrithik stole the show in Dhoom 2 and people didn't even remember that Abhi was in the movie. And lets not compare him to SRK...he is not even in Shah Rukh's league.

Abhi was good in Guru but his father needs to stop acting like his son is the only good actor in India. Get a life! Your son would be kicked out of Bollywood with 12 flops in a row, had it not been for his daddy.

Hrithik was phenomenal in Dhoom 2 and Krrish, he has men, women and kids going crazy for him. He proved what a fantastic and versatile actor he is. He ledt his work speak for itself. His daddy didn't have to go around giving 100 interviews claiming that his son is the best. They are not insecure like Big B, who will do anything to get publicity for his son.

The Bachchans are so cheap. I have NO respect for them anymore.

Good luck Aish.

wah well said buddy,very true.👏

yeah...This is just so unfair...What is going on these days???

also some people are just determined to 'entertain' some members with such 'nasty' interviews!!!😭

Mr Journalist, how much more jaundiced can your yellow journalism get ???? 🤢

I think hardly anyone knows, but during a rare interview on DD, when asked about his son Amitabh's mega success, Harivansh Rai Bachchan had quitely replied: When a father loses to his son in any thing, be it achievement, success or popularity, it is the proudest moment of his life. ( jab koi putra apne pita se jeevan ki daud me aage nikal jaaye, chahe woh uplabdhi mei ho, ya naam mei ho, yeh us pita ke liye sab se badi jeet hoti hai. )

So what is suddenly so wrong if Amitabh is being proud of his son?

It's pathetic the way these journos are vulturing on the Bachchan family recently !! Disgusting.

yes well said....every father as the right to be proud of his son...as for Big B he is justified here...because Abhishek has been really wonderful in Guru....👏 People must be more considerate to actors...not view them just as actor...we must understand they too are human ....(I saw one memeber say something abt ppl calling Big B God n all...even I feel that is absolutely crazy and Big B too does...he doesnt ask the ppl to do that...its not his fault at all)😊

woww this is going haywire!! calm down kids 😕 I just saw Guru today...Abhi has proved himself completely...he's phenomenal...forget everyone else the whole movie was him...as for Big B's interview...I don't think there is anythin wrong with him bein proud of his son...Guru is one of Abhi's greatest works and if he was my son I would be damn proud too...So, is Big B there is nuthin wrong with that...but yeah that whole SRK thing is kinda not cool but it seems to be going both ways hopefully they both would come to their senses soon and be humble again...and I don't think he meant anything wrong aginst Hritik...I don't why ppl are twisitng his words...He's just defending his son but not for a moment he said that Hritik was bad in the movie or anything...And as for the 2nd interviewer he was one sarcastic guy and yes it was entertaining interview yet some of the remarks made were unnecessary...that's all I got to say!!

yeah...U are right...They are twisting his words completely...I dunno why a sudden grudge towards Big B??? perhaps bcoz Bachchans have produced generations of legends...and Abhishek shows all probabilities of being the next...and some ppl are envious...like this Mr journalist...this is pathetic😡

He has never ever said he is a good actor. He has always said "I am just an average actor"(Though that is sheer modesty)😉 for the last 35 yrs...He has proved himself as modesty personified n even now..."he is not praising himself"...He is talking abt someother actor...not as his son...another talented actor...If Big B was talking abt any other actor like SRK or Aamir or anyone else...then ppl wouldnt have reacted like this...they wud have said.."ooh...he is such a nice man!!!" and just bcoz Abhishek is his son...they are just determined to put him in Bad light....

All the aforementioned did help the film, but the engagement too did have a contribution...Reports say so,the film IN INDIA opened on a 40-50% note, even the initial weekend collections were only 65%...Post the announcement, the collections were85%....Now its hard to buy that the rise in collections was just a co-incidence

Also the movie made a HUGE money overseas the weekend it was out. Example, the weekend gross was almost a million in US that is friday to Sunday and the engagement was announced on Monday.

Overseas BO isnt always in sync with Indian BO...Baabul was a hit in the UK,a washout in India,Umrao Jaan did decent business abroad,it was very much a disaster in India...The engagement news was for the Indian masses, who dont really enjoy classy cinema

well said yaar...I couldnt have put it better...saying that an engagement boosted up the collections is disgrace to a wonder of a film like Guru...The Indian audience do have the brains to understand which film deserved to be a hit and which not....Guru Rocks...n it is because of the engagement that it is a hit...The film has the potential for that...Just because the engagement came right the same time after the release...ppl r making up such wierd conclusions. Abhishek proposed to Ash right after the premieerre of the film...now dont say he had calculated that too....

Yeah hat is right..But Guru is Guru...And even after seeing the film..it is not the Ash abhi jodi that held me spellbound and all...but the beuty of the film and the superlative performances...

Lakshmi, there are so many good films with superlative performances which end up as duds at the BO...Omkara and Dor are two such instances

A film should be packaged well, publicized and hyped alot..All these eulogies come under "Publicity" ...Good performances alone doesnt guarantee success, even a humdrum film like Bhagam Bhag spins money, because they are publicized and marketted well.Guru's owes its success partly to the publicity too

This is yellow journalism gone too far. I remember the year was 1999 and month December and it continued in 2000 when there was so much bad written about Hrithik Roshan, Shahrukh Khan's Pepsi advertisement with Hrithik clone, questioning Hrithik acting skills. Most articles wrote Hrithik off and that was when he was considered a threat to King Khan. And now I see the same happening to this father-son duo. I am sure enough money is spent to tarnish AB's image.

How else would one define sudden degrading of AB's every action? What is wrong with AB praising his own son? At least for once let him be a proud father and not an actor-superstar. Why is it necessary that AB should always make politically correct statements? After watching 'Black' Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek were in tears and thought that was Amitabh Bachchan's best film till date. If a son can go overboard praising father then allow that father to be proud when his son excels in a movie like Guru. Rakesh Roshan makes movies only with Hrithik these days so doesn't that mean he is promoting only his son?

In this industry there is cut-throat competition. Relationship equations changes like people change clothes.
