Two leading dailies would not publish fake interviews,Mind you,they werent the same newspaper either..This is mid day,the other article(which stirred up the hornet's nest) was from DNA India...

Alright,even if we assume those words were twisted,not everything can be twisted right??There should be SOME truth,and even that little truth is revolting... That AB is gung ho about Guru is absolutely fine with me,but his using his clout to push the film,and make Abhi the next superstar gets my goat.Its so uncharacteristic of him.His getting "carried away" cannot be cut slack,it comes a cropper against his humble image ...

Moreover,he looks desperate....I have always been proud of Abhishek for struggling and emerging out of his father's shadow,without any help from his dad..But now such articles are disconcerting,it totally belittles all that ABhi stood for,and today,the Bachchans are no longer on the pedestal that I once saw them on...I've never seen any other father promoting their son so much that they give a full page advertisement in the newspaper...Shows how desperate they are for a hit....Guru would have worked even without all this hideous lowly publicity stunts,these kind of condescending articles only take away some sheen off the film... AB words are vaccuuous,ad the public didnt see the movie for that reason..Which brings forward the question "then why this desperate attempt"....AB,who has always been a paragon of dignity and humility,now defies everything he was venerated for,and goes ahead to make digs at other stars,and is desperately promoting his son...What was the need??....It only shows him in bad light!

I have been such a huge fan of Amitabh for over 25 years now. It is unbearable for me, why he would bring ARK into this conversation. It bothers me.

Big B was irked because Sanjay Gadhvi apparently said "Abhishek is finished"(I've never read Sanjay say anything to that effect,he praised and eulogized Hrithik,but never did he say Abhi is finished),Big B's gripe was that Sanjay shouldnt have belittled the contribution of Abhishek.Fair enough,but while accusing Sanjay,Big B committed the same mistake he was accusing Sanjay for...>namely undervaluing Hrithik contribution in K3G(honestly,I despised that entire movie,and the ONLY arresting part was the Hrithik Kareena track,otherwise the film elicited snores) and SRK's in KANK...People living in glass houses shouldnt pick up stones,Big B becomes no different from Sanjay Gadhvi,both got so carried away with certain performances that they excoriated the other artiste's performances...Pushing ABhishek is fine,but not at the expense of other actors!Thus in that way,he really cant push it till the end of the universe,he has to stay witnin limits,so that no other actor gets offended.

@ Sneha...So true,Big B is behaving a bit nutty offlate,these articles only corroborate that he was seething with resentment ad disappointment after watching Dhoom 2......ANother point,Big B says his optimism is motivating,but sorry to say,his new role of the soothsayer is plain 🤢..Its not optimism,these "predictions" only mirror his overconfidence ,they dont have to bo overconfident to prove that they arent diffident

I agree with you..he was miffed that Sanjay didn't give Abhi credit hence what does he do, he follows in Sanjay's foosteps and take Hrithik as an example from K3G...this proves that AB is no different than Sanjay..Actually K3G was supposed to be Hrithik first movie, Karan in an interview had stated that he was afraid how Hrithik might do and how the public might take to him as it was his first movie, but luckily Kaho na pyar..released first making Hrithik an overnight star! This so shows that AB is somewhat jealous of Hrithik as he accomplished himself so soon, while Abhi's struggled right from the start with Refugee...no one is telling AB not to dote on his son, but why go out and publish an ad that just shows the desperation of AB to prove to the world that his son can act. Where Guru itself is concerned the Movie has done average, it was all over the news that the movie picked up a bit after the engagement was announced..obviously people are not flocking the theaters to see Abhi & Ash after a string of flops together no one wants to see them for another 3hours...like some director had said..Ash & Abhi have no chemistry onscreen It's quite obvious the Bachchans knew Ash & Abhi can't make magic onscreen hence they head for engagement..*sigh*

I think hardly anyone knows, but during a rare interview on DD, when asked about his son Amitabh's mega success, Harivansh Rai Bachchan had quitely replied: When a father loses to his son in any thing, be it achievement, success or popularity, it is the proudest moment of his life. ( jab koi putra apne pita se jeevan ki daud me aage nikal jaaye, chahe woh uplabdhi mei ho, ya naam mei ho, yeh us pita ke liye sab se badi jeet hoti hai. )

So what is suddenly so wrong if Amitabh is being proud of his son?
