Sonam vs Sonam

I used to wonder if Sonam Kapoor (born 1985) was named after Sonam (born 1972) but it turns out it was the other way around.

The 80s/90s actress Sonam was born as Bakhtavar Khan in 1972. Her debut film Vijay was released in 1988. She worked in the Yash Chopra film alongside Rishi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. It was during the filming in 1986/1987 that Yash Chopra decided to give her a more marketable name, and Anil suggested Sonam (who was 1-2 years old at the time, and often visited the sets).

I wonder if the tagged members UN was named because of Bakhtavar Khan or was Bakhtavar Khan named because of this member? 😅

Sonam ( Bakhtavar) was so pretty, good dancer too ⭐️

Just checked Wikipedia. She is the niece of Raza Murad...never knew this before.

She danced with Madhuri and Sangeeta in a song from Tridev. She was meant to stay in the middle while dancing with Madhuri and Sangeeta as she was a bigger star in those days than Madhuri.

That time, Madhuri's Ek do teen became hit, so the producers changed the plan to make Madhuri stay in middle while dancing with Sonam and Sangeeta. Madhuri was feeling very proud about it.
