US doesn't even let woman voluntarily get their tubes tied but sure they would let a woman opt surrogacy just for "lifestyle" 🙄.

coming out of hoo ha is not the scary part, the pain, complications, risks and other problems is the concern for me, no matter young or old, it is a scary experience. I can see why people would not want to have kids for sure. A coworker of mine did surgery to not have kids.

Age is no longer a concern for pregnancy. Women much older than 40 are able to conceive safely.

However, I don't hold anything against anyone for choosing surrogacy. As someone who would never go through childbirth, I get why people may choose not to. Also, we never know if people have other risk factors.

When people choose IVF or surrogacy, I do wish they chose adoption. There are so many orphans who are waiting for a loving family. But from what I understand, adoption laws can be convoluted and difficult to navigate and even expensive.

my coworker got her tubes tied and she is 30 years old, they asked her several times before they went with her decision. Maybe they just want to make sure if changed mind about getting tubes tied or not.

Your coworker is lucky that she was able to get it. I have seen stories of women being denied saying they are too young and can change their mind( while men can get vasectomy anytime they want).

that is true because coworker was telling me about this other girl where they told her to come back years from now just to see if she changed her mind. But obviously since people consider women after 35 is at high risk for pregnancy than they shouldn’t deny women if they want tubes tied in their 30’s

So I'm guessing PC will be taking a couple of years off from work to focus on her baby.

I agree. I am all for surrogacy even if I don’t have any medical issue. I hope science progresses enough to lower all risks and society becomes more progressive to let people decide what and how they want to have a child. As long as there is no exploitation and forced surrogacy, people should have choice to decide if they want to go for it irrespective of medical condition.

Everyone doesn’t want the pain but may want an emotional bond with a child and enjoy parenting phase minus labor and 9 months. This may not be only for figure but psychological and mental reasons or just because they don’t want to go through it.

I believe this is the Future where it would become norm to produce kids in artificial wombs.
