Not sure how I feel about this surrogacy thing. When I hear someone went for surrogacy I feel they lost some beautiful experience to give birth.

Surrogacy became like easy way to get babies without disturbing your routine or figure. Extreme cases where you cannot give birth is understandable but for other reasons like not to disturb you life style but want a kid so you went for surrogacy then much say they lost a beautiful experience

just to let you know as someone who’s in this process itself right now (in the US)- the surrogacy agencies need a valid medical reason (if you are a straight couple not gay/lesbian) in order for you to pursue surrogacy, you need to submit a letter from your doctor. It’s not that simple that I don’t want to ruin my figure so let me hire a surrogate.

i wish we as a society would judge less. Period. If someone doesn’t share their medical issues (or any issues) it doesn’t mean they don’t have them.

we should just be happy for them!

Please donot talk about process and i know how it works. As I said based on their life style it is really harmful for the baby so it is not hard to go for surrogacy process. Here maybe her reason is not figure but for sure her lifestyle. And please donot generalize and divert the topic ...

Edit: i am happy that she is a mother now.

Lifestyle is not a medicolegally valid reason for surrogacy in the U.S. We don't know what kind of issues she faced, considering pregnancy at age 39. Reproductively speaking, age is not just a number.

PC must have really badly wanted a child to go through this.

Anyway, as you said, let's not divert the topic.

you definitely don’t know how it works 🙂 I am going through it right now so obviously I know this.

anyway lifestyle is not a valid medical reason at least here in the US- you need a letter from doctor before they even proceed. That’s how it was with us. They didn’t even consider my case until we had a letter from our doctor.

correct! It’s not a valid reason in US.

yes had no intention to divert the topic but people should also be aware of how the process actually works before saying things.

Elderly primipara is elderly primipara. There are risk involved no matter what Kareena or anyone else chose to do. Reproductive biology does not not-change with age.

Moreover, there are laws governing surrogacy in the U.S.

You can't do it just 'cause. There have to be medically valid reasons.

Beautiful experience? Some of us would beg to differ. If I was the child bearing and rearing kind, I tell ya I’d be the first one to jump on the surrogacy bandwagon. Ain’t nobody coming out of my hoo-ha.

i feel there’s so much lack of awareness regarding this process. Most people think it’s some kind of luxury that rich people can afford

i don’t know about India but here in US the laws are pretty strict. You can’t have a surrogate “just because “ . But I think most people are not even aware of this.
