Ranveer was AMAZING in 83!

I watched the movie in a theater yesterday and absolutely loved it. Anyone who has ever loved cricket will love this one.

The whole movie is brilliant but I wanted to make a special topic on just Ranveer's performance. He was AMAZING! I usually find him over the top but here he was just the opposite, so calm, such a restrained performance. I never saw Ranveer Singh on screen, it was always Kapil Dev. He deserves all the awards for this one! 👏He got everything right from the bowling action, body language to his dialogue delivery. You realize the dialogue delivery/accent part is so spot on when kapil dev himself comes on screen and speaks at the very end. You go Ranveer!

I am not sure how the movie isn't doing well because everyone I know who has watched this movie has absolutely loved it, my dad couldn't stop praising and same with my friends. Just bad timing with covid I guess, today theaters also closed in Delhi. I feel bad for the team because they made a brilliant movie and deserved all the success.

Even if the movie doesn't do well at BO, I am sure it will be a milestone film for Ranveer's career.

I hope you mean over the top in real life because he has given many other brilliantly restrained performances - Gully boy, Lootera, Dil Dhadakne Do

Thank you. 🥲 Finally seeing a member referencing movies of his that clearly showcased his acting capabilities. So bored of people intertwining his real vs reel personas. Going to sleep now before members come to ruin this rare moment. If I can’t see it, then it never happened.

yes you are right, he has given those performances as well. I have not seen Lootera though but I have seen gully boy and dil dhadakne do. I thought he was even more restrained and brilliant here in 83 than those 2 movies. Physically also this one was harder with getting that bowling action and body language right. This was a superior performance imo.

Haven't seen the film yet but a better question is why was the IT cell so invested in trolling and boycotting the film?

So true. The physical toll was immense with 6 months of hardcore training. Balvindar Sandhu (one of the real 83 stars) coached them and was joking about how he might as well use these actors as his own IPL team after such excruciating and extensive training they got.

Not just Ranveer but every single actor did such a fantastic job. People came out of the theaters wondering where the real actors have disappeared! 👏
