Of these at most 4 can be classified as patriotic (someone called it garbage..seriously???? What mindset) .. unless u count social issues as patriotism and not basic needs

You forgot some like Gold & Bell Bottom. Anyway the point is that most of these movies are forgettable & formulaic and Akshay basically plays the same character preaching about social issues or patriotism. He changed in the mid 2010s (first half there was more variety, even if movies like Brothers didn't work they were at least something different).

It doesn't feel like he puts any effort into his movies anymore and that's why they are forgotten unlike Dangal, 3 Idiots or PK (Aamir actually does the same thing better). Well it works for Akshay I guess but its not because the movies are great, patriotism/social issues are just the current trend, just like the family/romance drama's in the 90s-early 2000s or the gritty crime drama's of the 70s

K3G is memeworthy not iconic nor classic.Apart from DDLJ,none are iconic.Hera Pheri is iconic.The films you have mentioned are iconic in SRK's residence.

K3G is one of the main movies responsible for Bollywood becoming more known outside India. It was many people's first Bollywood movie and pretty much everyone knows about it.

Just because some snobs like to make memes about it (while they eat up the current garbage from Bollywood, as if its better) doesn't mean its not iconic and a classic. I agree Hera Pheri is iconic too, more so than any Akshay movie in the last 10+ years.

Ya Aamir movies r better..he understands the box offc very well..somehow knows what will click with the audience and what needs rework..

Yeah that's why I think Laal Singh Chadha will work. His only mistake last decade was Thugs, he thought that because Dhoom 3 was popular Thugs would work too (same director) but that backfired & he knows what people want from him now.

I mean family drama's/romance movies were also made before the 90s too. But in the 90s-early 2000s they became the dominant type of Bollywood movie and it was clear that the general audience liked them the most

Now it's patriotism focused movies (usually biopics on certain people and important events, they were never really this popular) with some social issues movies here and there which dominate Bollywood. There is an obvious trend for better or for worse depending on your preferences. I think they are getting repetitive now and very formulaic

MPK is a trend setter while KNPH is forgotten now and only known as debut of Hrithik.

Only someone born after 2000 would be unaware of impact and craze for MPK which revived theatres and brought back family audiences to cinema halls after generally vulgar and violent films of mid 80s. Even the Friend cap, white pigeon and boating in Dil deewana song are more popular than anything in KNPH.

33 years and it is memorable and gets shown on TV every weekend. Its music broke records and became highest selling album of 80s. Whereas KNPH is hardly shown on TV now and was forgotten in 20 years flat.

Comparison aukaat anusar karna chahiye. MPK is an ATBB, trend setter, game changer and classic. KNPH is just an HGOTY famous only for Hrithik's looks and dance, not the story or music or any scenes and tropes in film.

Uss film impact itna hua ki New Zealand tourism increase ho gayi jisko Hrithik effect bola gaya, Complete hero ka definition badal gaya, Dance karne ka tarika badal gaya. Aur SRK jaisa actors Jo kabhi gym nahi gaya woh bhi body banane lag gaya 😆

Yahan tak ki aaj bhi industry mein jo debut karta hai poora prepare ho kar aata hai taaki usko Hrithik Roshan jaisa debut mile. Asli Trend setter isse kehte hai

But only in terms of comic timing, I would rate Akshay higher than Hrithik. Akki has probably one of the all time best comic timing for male lead actors in Bollywood.

Hrithik is junior to Akki, Ajay and Khans so I do not understand why he is dragged in every thread on 90s stars.

Hrithik has no good comedy like Hera Pheri, Welcome or Andaz apna apna, Golmaal or All the Best in his career yet. So it will take time to compare to vast filmography of all 90s stars.

Sirf launch karne se bada actor hota toh aaj Uday chopra sabse bada star hota

2000 year ka sabse Bada launch Bachchan aur Kapoor ki film Refugee thi. Aur SRK Juhi ka pehla Production film tha. Aamir khan apne bhai ka relaunch kar raha tha Mela se.

That doesn't give Hrithik the credit he deserves. He became an overnight sensation with Kaho naa pyaar hai and it was because of his performance. He immediately showed superstar quality which is rare
