The India in which you, me and majority of the forum members live in is not even 1% of overall India. You are talking about urban India and even there 99% can't cook.

my parents have been married for 24 years they belong to "previous generation" so to speak my dad knows how to cook clean etc in lockdown we distribuated all the household chores equally

my parent have always encouraged all of three of us me n my two brothers to learn all the skills

vicky-katrina and most of them stan twitter belongs to present more modern generation do they not? so how about vicky shows some of his skills too

marriage is bond of equality both husband and wife are equals but are they really?

Actually Katrina loves all these Indian traditions and she has always said that she wants to be like a perfect Indian wife and daughter in law. So it's more of her choice. She is happy being like that. She loves caring for the people she loves. It is not like she was forced to cook by her husband and her in-laws. So hers is not an issue, rather a personal life choice and way of living. She is so rich that she can keep a hundred cooks for her and her in-laws. But she cooked because she loves caring for her family. She has lived all her life alone here in India coming from a foreign country. For the first time in her life, she has got a family and found so much happiness.

It is so nice to hear that your dad and brothers know how to cook. That's so cool. All my love to them.

I agree that the woman is not the only person who got married so she shouldn’t be the only one to make efforts to impress in laws by cooking or doing anything else. I am a feminist and I feel strongly that men should know and do all the house chores they expect from a woman, without making it sound like a big deal or a big achievement.

Having said that, Katrina is living with in-laws and Vicky’s in-laws are outside the country. How do we know and judge so quickly that he won’t do anything ( or cook) to impress them or how do we even know for that matter he hasn’t done that already while dating her?
Katrina made something as a new bride and she showed off on insta. Obviously fans/ stans are going to go gaga over her new avatar and praise her to the moon. Do we expect them to ruin her parade by immediately questioning what has Vicky done?
This was more of Kat showing off because clearly she has been giving the vibe that she wants to be a traditional wife and DIL.

If we want to normalise men cooking at home, why should we even make a fuss over Vicky cooking something, if by chance he posts something in that lines in future?

I always got the feeling Katrina is someone who loves this sorta homely, daily mundane stuff

I’m not saying this in a judgy orthodox way

But she always gave me the impression that she has always led a very intense life with initial career struggles, super stardom, toxic relationships , lots of money and scrutiny on her constantly

Somewhere she just seemed to crave peace,affection and normalcy

So it’s sooo cute to see her *seemingly* at peace …finally …I think given how peaceful she looks these days, her career will only get better and better 😊👍🏼…better state of mind > better focus > better decisions
