Sure:

One night I woke up because I needed to tinkle and there are always night lights on to gently guide the way, so I went and then distractedly washed my hands as I reached for a towel I glanced at the mirror and there in the semi darkness was a monster looking back at me, I tried to scream and only muffled snorts came out, so I turned on all the lights and ran to wake everyone in my house up, I shook my mother and when she woke up and looked at me making those growling sounds she screamed at the top of her lungs...long story everyone woke up, they called the rescue/paramedics who arrived within minutes and administered a shot of epinephrine and transported me to the nearest hospital. I had an anaphylactic reaction to one of the myriad things I am allergic to (in this case crab). The doctor gave me a stern warning about being a glutton when I should know better and told me to keep my darn epi pen close by....etc...

BUT my poor mother was traumatized by the horrid sight of a bloated gibberish growling monster me, and her restful sleep was hampered for days, so yes I guess that counts as something spooky.

God, I sure hope I’ve never been possessed. But I’ve witnessed so many spooky things that I could write a book on it. There’s too many stories to tell and I’m sure not everyone will be bothered to read that much. However, apart from hearing/seeing creepy shit, I’ve also suffered from sleep paralysis MANY times. Let me tell you that sleep paralysis is absolutely terrifying. At one point, I was too scared to go to sleep because I didn’t want to experience it again.

Sleep Paralysis Stories

Definition: Sleep paralysis is a temporary inability to move that occurs right after falling asleep or waking up. Individuals remain aware during episodes, which frequently involve terrifying hallucinations.

  • My first experience was like a horror movie. I was asleep, dreaming that I’m in a dark bedroom and all I could see was the silhouette of the devil (it had horns). The devil then pushes me and I fall back onto the bed and he places his hand over my chest, which starts to suffocate me. This is when I wake up and my whole body is paralysed, I can’t move but I’m wide awake. The pressure is still on my chest and I can’t breathe. I’m trying to cry out and move but I can’t even talk. Somehow I snap out of it and wake up. The next day I googled it and realised that this experience is common and tried to focus on the scientific explanation rather than cultural beliefs which say sleep paralysis happens because a demon is sitting on your chest (FCUK THAT).
  • Second experience happened in broad daylight. I was taking a nap and in the middle of a pleasant dream (I was running in grassland with flowers surrounding me), when I woke up and realised that I was paralysed again. This time I didn’t panic because I had google searched it. So I remained calm and tried to lift my head off the pillow. I barely lifted my head off the pillow when it was slammed back down. Then I tried to raise my arm and again it was slammed back to the same position. I looked like those possessed girls fighting a paranormal force. I could feel someone breathing into my ear and thankfully snapped out of it.
  • I’ll skip the other stories because I’ve lost count how many times I’ve had sleep paralysis, but this one scared me to death. I was sleeping on the couch, lying on my side facing the couch. I woke up in the middle of the night paralysed. I tried to will myself to wake up and was gradually trying to move my limbs when I felt a sinister presence standing behind me. You know that overwhelming feeling you get when you can sense someone is standing over you? That’s exactly how it felt but I couldn’t move my head to look behind me. Then I felt the ‘presence’ lean over and with a harsh demonic sounding voice, it started whispering creepy sounding gibberish in my ear. I even felt the breath tickling the side of my face. All I remember is internally screaming but only muffled sounds were escaping my mouth, as if I had my mouth covered with tape. I finally woke up and turned on all the lights and proceeded to watch cartoons until sunrise. 🙂

Sorry for the long read, I got carried away. Scary stories are my favourite type of conversations. When I was 5 years old, I scared my Kindergarten teacher when she asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her that I wanted to be a vampire, while the other girls wanted to be a princess. 😭

I have experienced sleep paralysis once in my life.. I once woke up with a feeling that something heavy was choking me.. It continued for maybe 2 minutes... Since then I make sure I do my daily adhkar(for those who don't know it's reading Quran Ayat and blowing on yourself) and it helped... In fact whenever I forget doing it is usually when I get nightmares...

Maybe some meditation can help u even if u don't believe in demons.. :) it can also be result of some stress

I do strongly believe in Djinn and know that I’ve had close experiences with them. With the sleep paralysis, I know it’s sleep related as it happens to me when I’m overly tired. When I’m scared, I recite Ayat Kursi, Surat An Nas and Al Falaq. But sometimes even that scares me because my chicken headed brain comes up with two conclusions:

A) If I suddenly start to recite prayers at 3:00am when I’m scared then I get even more scared because this confirms to me that there’s definitely something sinister in my room. 😂

B) I get paranoid that if the demons hear me reciting prayers, they’ll get pissed off that I’m trying to scare them away and will dive at me and possess me. I can handle demons that look like men, but please don’t ever bring a scary looking woman in front of me. That’s my hard limit.

I know it’s irrational thinking but possibly the biggest scaredy-cat you’ll ever encounter. I still sleep next to my mum 🥺😂

🙈

I had shared an incident and then chickened out.

Here goes:

A few months back, I once woke up in the middle of the night (the night light was on) to find a dark sinister looking octopus-like thing floating near the ceiling. It was like a bunch of black noodles suspended in the air, and moving its tentacles vigorously. The brave guy that I am, I immediately started screaming my lungs out. It must be noted that I did NOT shit my pants. I heard my wife's voice, and realized what I'm seeing is just an apparition. But I could still see it with my own eyes, and continued both screaming as well being surprised by the weirdness of it all. The entire episode lasted a few seconds, after which that concoction of my mind disappeared. Poof.

I thought I'm losing my mind, but then upon researching found these may happen during sleep. That was the only episode I've had, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. 🤞

Btw, your incidents were really scary, yet made up for an enthralling read, and you Should definitely include them in a book. I just hope it remains a short story, and you're spared of any further episodes as well. I have experienced it so know how frightening they can be.

When I was a child I would get a lot of horrible nightmares. So my mom started keeping a copy of Hanuman Chalisa under my pillow, and it immediately worked. I stopped doing that after a few months, but the nightmares are gone for good! Knock on wood. 😎

As a child I read a book “Vishwaprasiddha Bhoot Pret ghatnayein” 😂 For a very long time I refused to sleep alone and would jump at smallest of sounds 🙈

Why would you chicken out on such an awesome read. That’s the first time I ever heard something like that. The only apparition I’ve woken up to is imagining a cockroach directly above me in the ceiling. It also fell onto the bed and I woke up screaming, but I couldn’t move fast enough. I was possibly still half asleep, so I army crawled my way to the edge of the bed with my mum trying to hold onto my ankle, worriedly asking me what’s wrong. But my only motivation was to escape the fallen cockroach, so I rolled myself out of the bed and slammed onto the floor. There was no cockroach, I had imagined it. It ain’t no tentacle creature but this is my way of telling you that I can somewhat empathise with the horror you experienced.

I’m glad you noted that you didn’t shit your pants. That makes you a survivor. 😆

Exact-fcuking-ly same here babe. I've lost count of how many online sites and YouTube channels I'm subscribed to for this purpose. 😆

Let's raise a toast. To being spooked and spooking forever. 🍺🍷
