You are welcome. Her mother tongue is not Kannada though. Her mother tongue is Tulu which is very close to Kannada but a little different. Tulu is spoken by the Bunt community. Obviously she also speaks Kannada.

Ash's parents are from Manglore which is a region in Karnataka. They belong to a caste called Bunts. The Bunts are a separate group in Karnataka by themselves.They are equvilent to the Vysyas (business) in the 4 types of caste system of Brahmin, vysyas,Kshtriyas, and Shudras. Most of the hotel busieness in Karnataka is owned by the Bunts. Their customs really do not resemble the general Kannadiga population. They speak a language called TULU which is a mix of lot of languages, and defnitely does not resemble Kannada! However, in the past when the karnataka govt or the Bunts tried to claim Ash,she has denied any connections with them. As per her she was brought up in Mumbai, and does not care much for the people of Karnataka, or Bunts. As far as I know she does not want her name associated with any of the above!I do not beleive in caste system as such. However, that is another question that could come in our minds as to where AB's who are conservative Brahmin family getting a non Bhramin Bahu ???? 😕
