Movies will eventually release again in full capacity. Who can give the industry it’s first blockbuster? What do you think? 😉

Every star has fazed. Only a big series name can pull eyes. Dhoom 4, Krish 4 etc.

No one. The maker of Bahubali himself postponed the release of his next film RRR after seeing the poor response movies are getting.

It seems like people value their health and lives more than some movie that can be easily watched from the comfort and safety of their living room.

But this is only true for urban audiences. Rural folks may not have many options. I feel bad for them as their only major source of entertainment is watching a film at a cinema.

I think rural areas where there is no form of entertainment, there is no form of entertainment.

But I think mobile phone has taken over cinema in India even in rural areas. Cheap data and cheap mobile phones have taken over.

Less than 50% of India is connected to 4G. That should explain how many in rural areas have access to Internet/OTT.

Having said that, this will change a lot in the next 5-10 years.

But those areas, do not even have cinema. And even more than OTT, it is the social media short video apps like Josh, Moj, Snack or whatever which is in full force. A lot will change.

People are used to travelling to the nearest big village to watch movies. For them smartphone/internet would be a revolutionary change. That is why Ambani is betting big on his Jio Phone Next, which is an affordable phone for the masses.
