Did Hrithik deserve to win a Filmfare for Dhoom 2 over Shahrukh? - Page 2

It was a shame that KANK did not sweep the awards that year.

Rani deserved the win over Kajol anyday and I'm glad IIFA recognized that, even if Filmfare didn't.

I think SRK should have won best actor that year as well, for either of his roles.

I can understand ranking Konkona over Preity but I still would have gone with Preity myself.

Yes. Heck anybody over Srk in Kank and Don. He was insufferable in both movies.

If the award was given to the true best acting performance of the year then Hrithik wouldn’t have deserved it. Neither would SRK or any other popular BW actor LOL (but that is what the critics’ award is for or so they tell me.)

The award was always given to an actor in a lead role in a successful film and Hrithik deserved it by those standards.I think a case could be made for Sanjay Dutt to have won but it was a sequel so he didn’t create a new character just did more of the same and he had already won a Filmfare acting award for that character in the original film. Dhoom 2 was a blockbuster and I remember it being absolutely huge. Krrish was also a blockbuster and both Dhoom 2 and Krrish had higher collections than Lage Raho Munnabhai. Don was a hit but no where as “big” and KANK wasn’t even a clean hit. There are any number of years when SRK did win and there was a clearly better acting performance by someone else and the reasoning was always, but SRKs film was more successful so he deserved the award. So yes Hrithik probably deserved to win over Sanjay and definitely deserved to win over SRK.

I dunno if Hrithik deserved to win for Dhoom 2, but SRK was cringe in KANK (and generally speaking, with the exception of Swades/Chak De).

Hrithik would have won for Krrish that year in any case. Nobody expected a Superhero film in India to be accepted by public and let alone any actor pull it off!

I loved how the cameras panned to SRK when Hrithik won. SRK is such a poor actor that he cannot even hide his jealousy in real life! He was faking a smile but his jealousy showed and how 🤣

KANK was an awful film and SRK was the Worst actor in that awful film. Am surprised he was even nominated for the hamfest!

In any case, he already won way too many awards unfairly to complain abt losing to a far better actor n star 😆

SRK got out-performed by Abhishek in that movie, and Rani and Preity ran circles around him.
