What should've Rajesh ideally done after Pooja's death to take care of his child?
Hum Aapke Hain Koun ended with Rajesh (Mohnish Bahl) getting Prem and Nisha married because according to him, Nisha even after marrying his younger brother would babysit his child.
In real world that's never going to happen, but since this is the world of Sooraj Barjatya, where no person is actually bad or evil, Nisha would totally have no problem being the mother of someone else's child.
This would still lead to some problems. Like Rajesh still deserves a chance to marry again if he wants to. But he most likely won't because he doesn't want to bring a step-mother for his child. If he marries again, his wife would take preference over Nisha as the mother of that kid.
Anyway, the hypothetical question I was going to ask was if Prem and Nisha were not in love, what would've been the most ideal solution to take care of the kid after Pooja's death?
According to the film, the best solution is to get Rajesh married to Nisha, because obviously instead of an unknown woman, the sister of the mother has the most chances to take care of that kid as her own.
Indians still don't understand the concept of nannies in 2021, so it's useless to expect them to understand it in 1994. But no matter how good a nanny is, she could never replace the mother. Neither could a step-mother but she's still better than a nanny.
The family in HAHK was rich so Rajesh even had the option to become a stay-at-home dad to take care of his own kid instead of relying on others. But this old fashioned family obviously thought that they needed a woman.
And since Kailash Nath (Alok Nath) was their unmarried uncle and not father, the kid had no grandmother either.
There was no woman in that big house except a maid.
So what was the most ideal solution for Rajesh according to you?

He should man up and take care of his own child.
I was watching a show where this guy tried to get custody of his kid from the kids mom. An the mom was a criminal sociopath. An he still had to get married to some other girl just to win. It’s not just Bollywood. These plot devices are unfortunately still used everywhere. I don’t know if they think the world works this way or if it makes for good entertainment. But it’s really neither 😆
Rajesh could take care of his kid. An even hired a full time staff.
He had a billion family members. Why waste money on nanny.
Depends how long he can get over with, mean time his family or nanny have to take care of the kid while he works, then if needed he can marry a divorcee or a widow or someone who understands his situation, too bad evil step mom is scary reality
Stay at home dad concept wasn't in then, so difficult to execute. He can raise the kid along with nisha, prem and uncle. He can get remarried after getting to know the girl will be kind enough to embrace his kid and new mom and nisha both can raise the kid together along with other family members. It was a joint family so many can contribute in proper upbringing of the kid.
Rajesh should take care of his child. This does not mean he has to stay at home, Rajesh can hire a full-time nanny to help him look after his child.
Nisha could have taken care of the child as her aunt too. Why did she have to marry her bro-in-law and sleep with him too.... just to take care of the child?!! Talk about sacrificing women like lambs and portraying men as completely incompetent of raising a child as a single dad.
There was absolutely no need to dump the marriage on her shoulders, that though with her bro-in-law who she treated like a brother. Talk about incest. Bewafa, where Kareena actually married Anil Kapoor to replace her own sister to raise the kids, makes me puke.
A fully grown @$$ man like Rajesh would have mourned for a while .. along with his 235452452 family members. And then I'm sure he was capable of figuring out what to do with his child, whether it's by marrying someone else and trying to build a conducive atmosphere with a mother and a father OR by hiring a nanny OR by letting the family play pass the ball with the baby... a day at a time. I mean, that was one BIG family, surely they could have easily taken care of the child without thrusting that TOTALLY uncalled for marriage on poor Nisha.
It’s an unfortunate and complicated situation, there’s no right solution if you ask me…
Well in real life the guy would never live life of celibacy so he would marry sooner or later.
Whom he marries is between the girl and him.
In today's times too, the younger sister is often married off to the elder sister's husband😭Sad but reality
