Disabling ad blocker message

IF is showing this sign in red at the bottom of the screen that we should consider disabling ad blocker and this message just won't go

'Our website is made possible by displaying online advertisements to our visitors.

Please consider supporting us by disabling your ad blocker.'

I would have disabled ads if they were just on the side but it often covers messages and impacts scrolling

I think someone should bring this to Vijay's attention it is obviously to increase ad revenue but it decreases user experience. I personally will not buy a product because an IF ad shows me the only time I would click on it is by accident

Options to solve this problem:

- please consider removing this sign

-if first option is not possible then show it once per login only not continuously

Also I do not want IF to tailor ads to me using my cookies it is intruding my privacy.

Oh my God, this post is just so true! ❤️ Thanks for creating this, Priya. It impacts user experience when such ads pop up while scrolling the comment section and cover it completely.

Being from the media industry myself, I know how important ad revenues are. But rarely do brands hide their own content with these ads.

I had also commented earlier in the Complaints thread about intrusive ads from a popular NGO brand that used to cover threads and flash repeatedly. The pictures were disturbing and deliberately manipulative to get people to shell out money, but the admin felt there was nothing wrong with it 🤷‍♀️ I support social causes but can’t deal with disturbing pictures on the site when I am trying to have some fun and relax. I have stopped donating through that organization now for fear of being stalked everywhere on social sites.

I wish there was more streamlining of where and when ads are shown. The products I sell have ads too but they don’t impact user experience like this.

Hope the feedback is heard this time 🤞

Didn't you know you can block it?

Try these steps:

Click on the adblocker icon on the top right of your browser:

Then click on Block element (the blue text)

Then, click on the red bar at the bottom of your screen, and then a pop-up will open up: Click block. The red bar will disappear!!

I already made it disappear so let me show how I did it but this time let me do that to the photo banner you see here:

Now open adblock and choose block element and click on the photo banner

And then click block

Tada... it's disappeared forever

This is how I have blocked so many such annoying elements on the screen to have fewer distractions.
