Who doesn't like a pretty girl? Girls get advantages (and disadvantages but we'll talk about that later) due to their looks all the time, even in a regular job. So of course looks will be given maximum importance in cinema, since it's literally a visual medium.

The fact that you like Deepika is due to her looks, whether or not you admit it, as she's a below average actress at best. Why her and why not Konkona or Tabu or Vidya. Ask yourself and you'll have the answer.

For me, both looks and talent are important.

That's the reason Deepika is my favourite actress and Hrithik my favourite actor.

What do you expect with all that botox and plastic surgeries . All of them look alike, and it doesn't help that half of them can't even act decently, so yeah I agree with you 😆 Bollywood lost its charm a long time back.

Hahaha I see what you did there...

Not just Indian audiences. Worldwide, people prefer to watch good-looking people in movies. Even in art films, you usually find pretty actresses no matter where you go unless the content is such.

You have to consider that a decent-looking actress would still be a stunner in real world. Likewise, a stunner in real life might simply appear as decent-looking in entertainment industries.

Most successful actors have rare combinations. They're good-looking and have strong screen presence. Many times, you have some models who are drop-dead gorgeous irl and in stills, but are bland on-screen.

While some actresses may not be as good looking, but they have the charm to appear more attractive than they are simply because of their spunk and screen presence.

It's more or less like that in all film industries.
