I think a lot of it also has to do with the storylines the actresses are doing. A lot of movies include a storyline about love at first sight or being pretty enough to grab someone's attention. I, as the audience, will REFUSE to believe someone who comes on screen looking like an unpeeled unbaked potato grabbed anyone's interest upon first look 😃
Love at first sight is a trope which Bollywood has overused to death. I don't think this trope is how love actually works in the real world.
Sexist movies like Kabir Singh, sure.
But where there's a nuanced understanding of love, I think love at first sight is not that important.
The movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil where Ranbir loves an average-looking Anushka over gorgeous Aishwarya is more realistic of how love actually works and not lust.
