I don't think he is being sidelined. He still did do some bollywood albums in the last decade and has more coming up. His beginning started with South music and I think he will keep doing what he enjoys/loves doing the most.

In a recent interaction with a radio station, A.R Rahman was asked why he chose to do fewer Bollywood projects. To this, the composer replied that he has not been saying no to good films. On the contrary, he further added, he feels like there is a 'gang of people' who always misunderstands his interpretations and are spreading false rumours about him. He explained how when Mukesh Chhabra approached him for Dil Bechara, A.R Rahman gave him four songs in just two days. He also added that according to him, there is a whole gang working against him.

yeah but rehman was popular with regional music ....bollywood hits given him fame in the subcontinent ...who else listen to tamil thing outside india ......... SRK is not taking everything what comes his way but he only take worse out of all choices lol ....lets see what PATHAN actually is all about ....

Tamil songs only be listened by someone who understand it ...people from dubai or pakistan why the heck will they listen to a language they dont understand lol thats my point ..AR got more audience i.e audience outside india like me like many others with his bollywood songs

Yes people only llisten to music they understand hence why people from all over the world are fans of kpop despite not speaking Korean 👍🏼
