While the other person is not loud, not good at acting but at least good looking, so must be considered a good actor. For example Sonam Kapoor.

In general, why I agree with it is because certain actors like Hrithik and Deepika are talked about more in terms of looks than their acting skills, and the latter being pretty good. It is almost as if looks eclipse their performances, overshadows their acting chops.

The reverse is also true. Certain average actors are hyped up no end even if they have only mediocre or bad acting skills, because the focus is more on trying to find some merit at any cost. The latest example being Janhvi Kapoor, she's really no good in terms of looks or acting, but somehow people believe she's a better actress than pretty Ananya.

I personnally think that both Jhanvi and Ananya have potential even though Jhanvi has an edge for me (after seeing her In Ghost Stories)

Regarding Hrithik and Deepika I don't think they are such great actors. Hrithik is much more capable than Deepika imo but even he tends to overact sometimes.

Regarding Deepika... the less said, the better.

My post wasn't meant to highlight Deepika's fashion sense in particular... or lack of it, depending on your perspective. The takeaway was that Sonam doesn't stand out to me as someone any more or less fashionable than the rest.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it but Sonam and Rhea didn't steal this one. She's known to wear not only luxurious designer clothes but also those of designers that didn't break out to help them get a recognition.

Ok, so character actors are ordinary looking people for her. They don't have a class. We see Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal, Reema Laagoo, Johny Lever etc. So such ordinary people get away with interesting roles and get praised and nothing left for an actor like Sonam Kapoor.
