Do you think the new gen actresses are way too generic?

I get the feeling that mos new-gen actresses or gen Z actresses are all spitting images of each other. The reason why they come across as stale/bland/generic is that they dress a similar way, expose a lot, and try too hard to be sexy. There are no unique qualities that they exhibit, which would be redeemed in the long run and help us to distinguish one from the other. They all come across as wannabe and desperate in their sartorial choices.

Look at the previous generation - Katrina, Kareena, Priyanka, and Deepika all not only look different from each other, but they all also have unique traits and different USPs.

Do you guys agree?

Also, let me clarify it's not just the dressing sense which makes them generic. It's also the personalities that they have cultivated which make them almost carbon-copies of each other.

Yes, yes, and yes. And the first and foremost reason is because they are from the same social circle, their mom and dad know each other, they have hung out with each other since kindergarten and went to the same school till the end of high school, and and are now trying to break in to Bollywood one by one. They don't say attack of the clones for nothing!

Except Sara and Alaya F ... they all sound dumb as F and with that atrocious supposedly "cool" way of talking, it's jarring beyond my level of tolerance. Ananya, Shanaya, and Lord knows how many other ---aya's are interchangeable.

It's because they're trying to ape each other and sometimes other people like....Alia.

They don't realize that Alia was preceded by Sonakshi & Parineeti and followed by Illeana, Taapsee, Kirti, Bhumi, who all have had their own unique personalities.smiley20 So Alia was one of her kind during her debut time, that's why her thing worked in 2010s.

But this current lot (Sara, Ananya, Alaya etc..) is certainly way too generic, and easily interchangeable among themselves. And I'm counting Tara Sutaria too because there's nothing "special" about her that sets her apart from the above. Just because she is an outsider, won't automatically make her good.😵

Jhanvi seems to have good potential, but not sure about her in the long-term.

Sara is a good speaker off-screen, but has a long way to go to be taken seriously as an actress.😵

The only one who has had a bit of a good luck off late is Kiara Advani.👍🏼

We actually have a good mix of actresses with distinct personalities today as well, like Radhika Madan, Sanya Malhotra, Tripti Dimri etc....but they don't seem to getting the recognition/opportunities that they deserve.😒

In other words, you also think that they look and sound the same but you don't really care as long as they're "tap worthy." Got it.

No, it is just we getting old.

Everyone feels things were better when they were young.

Jitender came in Dus Ka Dum in 2008/9 or it was 2010, whatever it is, and he was like "aaj Kal Sabri heroine ek jaisi Lagti hain yes the very '' Deepika, Katrina, Priyanka and so on'' generation seemed generic to him.

Were they generic? No.

It was just he was old, and hardly ever saw anything related to those actress, plus they were just starting.
