It has been confirmed that the first episode of Koffe With Karan Season II will be starring - Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. Karan has started the shooting of this first episode and says there is also a surprise guest in this first episode of new season. After numerous speculation in the media, finally we got it from horses mouth that the guest will be none other than his first love - Shah Rukh Khan.
It was in Kuch Kuch Hota Hain these two stars shared same screen space. Thereafter both Kajol & Rani had a blink and miss kinda guest roles (together) and hardly they shared same screen in all of Karan's movies. Its been said, that Kajol & Rani were not in talking terms, but for the sake of this episode they are sharing same screen space after nine years. Getting out more from Karan, he says
I wanted Rani and Kajol together for my first season, but they were not on talking terms, so the plan didn't materialise. Finally, I had to work out some other combinations to get them both. Finally, they have come to atleast 'hi-hello' terms.
After Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, magazines and glossies wrote about Kajol's rift with Rani. Although they are cousins, it was reported that Kajol treated Rani badly on the sets. Karan wanted to clear the air and it took him a year to convince Kajol to come on the show. Although Kajol is very fond of Karan, she didn't want to do the show with Rani. But Karan's show is all about fun and spice. He wanted both of them to share screen time and chat like sisters.
The idea of getting SRK for his first episode came to his mind, when both the sisters agreed to be part of the show. Shah Rukh shares an amazing chemistry with Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hat Hai, while he is brilliant with Rani in Kabhie Alvida Naa Kehna. Karan had enough reasons to ask Shah Rukh.
