1. Sholay was made in 1970s. DDLJ was made in 1990s.
While the movies reflect the flaws of the times, we're judging from 2020. How can anyone in this day and age claim this was all right?
2. Indians are heavily influenced by movies. There are no if, ands, or buts about it. After so many years, culture has built around what we see in them. A mostly Punjabi festival like karva chauth is now celebrated across the country. An Indian immigrant claimed he was stalking two women because he thought that was romance. While moviemakers are legally free to do such scenes, let's not pretend they're not using said scenes to titillate the LCD and rake in moolah at the expense of safety and security of women.
