Why did Kareena never become numero uno?

She was always in top 5 but never made it to the top position in 20 years. I think she was much more deserving than Katrina to reach the top position.

She's beautiful, talented and has great screen presence. Is her script sense to blame? Too many flowerpot roles?

I don't think anyone is deserving because if you leave it at that and don't curate careers like Karan did for Alia, the balance finds itself in the middle.

Kareena couldn't have been #1 from 2000-06 because she had Aishwarya, Rani, and Preity ahead of her. She was competing with Priyanka more or less after Priyanka's debut.

After JWM, she was #1 for a while, but Katrina was winning hearts all over so, from 2008 until 2013 it was basically Katrina. Since then, it's been Deepika although today, I don't think there is an outright #1.

Kareena is basically the female version of Akshay Kumar. She has always been up there but she's rarely been the outright biggest star. Her consistency is her hallmark. Aishwarya, Rani, and Priety faded away. Kareena hasn't. Priyanka would have too if she weren't uber smart and hopped onto American showbiz.

Kareena was number 1 from 2007-2010/11. She was referred to as the # 1 heroine in most magazines, power lists, etc... She was the only actress in top 7 at the forbes list with an earning from over 72 cr in 2012. In kwk3 all the actors/actress/directors were gushing over her. And she was the first chocie of allmost every director. In my opinion, this is all make her #1 at that time.

Yeah agreed with the poster above. She was no 1 for a brief while with JWM but Katrina had some serious star power and gave her a run for her money till DP came along and decisively won the mantle in 2013.

Imo Kareena was never able to become number one because of being too “safe” with her script choices. But at the same time, choosing safe scripts contributed greatly to how long she’s lasted as a heroine...

That along with good looks, good screen presence, nepo connections and good acting skills...

But the thing is neither her acting, nor her looks, not her script choices were outstanding, although all three were good, and to be a number one you need to have at least one thing about you that’s stand out 🤷🏽‍♀️

Though that said, nepotism and all aside, Kareena was way more deserving to be no. 1 than Katrina, she’s a far superior actress, with better screen presence too!
