If you want to read/know about Mahabharata i will suggest you go for the actual text. Don't rely on tv adaptations or novels. Not even jaya by devdutt patnik. All of them wrongly glorify people like karna and yudhishtra.

You can find the translated version of mb on sacred text.

Mahabharata and Ramayana were on air on TV .I watched some episodes of Ramayana but haven't checked out Mahabharata..

Pandavas had other wives apart from drapaudi. Polyandry was not so uncommon as tv adaptation or novels present it to be

Plus drapaud pandava match was purely a political move. Which ultimately led to yudhishtra drapaudi being emperor and empress.

But i love what a strong and intelligent lady that she was. Sadly none of tv shows ever highlight this part of her life. Her politics power is never shown. Though she held more power than all of yudhishtra s four brothers s combined. And she was benevolent empress to her people.

Only dharma pandavas had was panchali.

Mahabharata hardly has any good husband there are Pandavas who mutely watched as their wife was assaulted. Had it not been for panchali and her presence of mind they would still have been duryodhan s slave.

Then there is karna who was ready to sell his wife to anyone in the middle battlefield who could tell him arjuna s whereabouts so that he can kill him. This man a molester is presented has helpless victim in tv shows.

Then there is dritrashtra who fed up of Gandhari s prolonged pregnancy slept with another woman.

And the list goes on ....

All these characters are glorified to no length in tv shows.

Nope. No kindle version. Only available as paperback. But well worth every penny. It has character sketches on all the major and minor characters explaining their motivations as well as their past. Why they wrote the script from Arjun's perspective rather than Karna's. How Arjun had his eye on Kat long before but stepped back because she was in love with Ranbir.The director Prakash Jha had real experience working on the campaign of some politician. Details on the location, how costumes for each character is chosen etc. For eg: Rabir wore mostly white in key scenes because that's Arjun's color, thick non clingy saris for widow Kat while Arjun wore kurtas and crushed stoles befitting his status as upcoming politician.Plus there's the entire script in Hindi as well as English. The censor board's often absurd objections over minor things etc.

It's a long time I watched that movie and I just remember one thing that the story was inspired from Mahabharata. 😆
