Rajneeeti??

Just watched recently. But didn't understand completely. I mean, why was Ranbir's family shown in positive light ? They were too vile.

And what was the connection of Naseeruddin shah?

And why was Ajay ready to die for Ranbir's cousin? I thought he wanted to be successful himself. He was going to betray him too.

I saw it long ago and have completely forgotten the plot.

All I remember is Ranbir from the movie - he was fab.

The basic setup of families is based on mahabharat. Arjun was Yudhishthir, ranboo Arjun, katto Draupadi, Ajay karn, Manoj Duryodhan, nana Patekar as Krishna, Naseer as surya, etc.

Naseer’s point was just to father ajay(karna). AFAIR.

Baaki details of plot yaad nahi. Has been a decade.

The movie is in storyline of Mahabharat or Say it was Modern Mahabharat .

Ranbir- Arjun

Arjun Rampal- Yudi/bheem

Ajay Devgan- Karn

Manoj Bajpai- Druyodhan

Nana Patekar- Krishna

Ranbir's Mom- Kunti

Katrina- Draupadi

Ranbir's Girlfriend- Subadra

Basically it showed how political families rivalries are . Ranbir's family started everything after his dad gets killed by Ajay. Ranbir's mother was daughter of then CM and she was supporter of Opposing Party whose leader was Nassriuddhin Shah. One night she stayed with him and got consummated (She was in love with him I think). Then she gave birth to Ajay but Nana Patekar 's character took him and left him ghats. Ajay was adopted by driver of Ranbir's father.

Like Karn , Ajay wanted to grow as famous leader and her got opposition from Arjun Rampal and his father. Manoj bajpai supported him and thus he became indebted to his friendship like Karn-Duryodhan. Manoj wanted the power so made Ajay kill Ranbir's father.

and did other bad deeds.Its not like Ranbir's family was any Saint

In climax Ajay gets to know his birth truth so he does not kill Ranbir as he know he is his half brother but Nana Patekar tells him to take revenge for his family's deaths

I remember Rajneeti.

Ranbir looked so handsome and hot in it. ☺️ He wanted Kat to get all the power and conspired against all enemies. I still loved his vindictive side.

Yup. All of their acting were awesome. Ranbir as a grey person did commendable ..

one of my all time favorites! Ranbir's family wasn't innocent but neither were the other side. I think that was the point, in politics no one is innocent.

Ranbir and kat were amazing the movie. I always love any modern interpretation of mahabharat and this was the best in my opinion.

And I agree he and Kat had good chemistry but he was such a jerk to her. Also Arjun Rampal and Kat also amazing chemistry till he gets killed.
