Coming back to a little talk about cultural trend. The entire vanity of ‘Beauty Aspirations’ have slowly experienced a shift to ‘Beauty that looks like me’. Likewise, For urban audience in cinema. I would watch a Jaydeep Ahlawat acting his heart out rather than the pretty and so called Greek Gods. Why? Because they don’t resonate with me. There’s definitely a slow shift in the trend cultures.

How does it impact cinema in the digital world? People want to look at people who aren’t just pretty faces anymore. They look for depth, intelligence and much more. There was a furore and discussion about all this before SSR but now, it’s like a catastrophic chain reaction.

Agree with your points! Also would like to point that social media has given everyone a platform to vent which wasn’t present earlier.

Only disagree with the part that the likes of Alia and Jhanvi come in the “Beauty Aspirations” or “Greek Goddess” category, there are more like “Looks much worse than me still hailed as Glam Goddesses” category!🥱

@bold true. Thanks for the addition.

See, beauty is totally subjective. My point was about generic culture trends. I have been saying it for quite some time. Instead of having cinema with the so called ‘good looking people’, we need to have more inclusive cinema with no speculation about their skin colour, features etc. These norms should come only from a character setting perspective. Imagine, if from childhood we had seen people who are plus sized, with all forms of skin color regularly on screen. Cinema would then have been more about art. Currently, cinema provokes vanity. I hope I have made my point clear. :)

Yeah, I totally get that part and agree as well! I and I think most people nowadays have no problems with nepo kids as long as they are really talented and are worth all the hype irrespective of how they look!

Nepotism is present in every high paying profession. But I distaste nepotism when it overrules and suffocates real talent and potential just coz they don’t have the right surname or the right people on their recently called list.

Yes it deserves so bcoz it defines brand Alia .

And how much appreciation she can get without koffee with Karan

More than her it is for her father I am sure he must be lying somewhere like an ANIMAL quoting UG Krishna Murthy and predicting mental illness for others

Now when the audience is taking action, refusing to watch until.sysyem changes. They smartly play the sympathy and victim card.

Basically if anyone from the industry raises an issue, they are either Attention Seekers, looking for fame, personal vendetta etc .

If the audience raises it, sympathy card.

If someone questions nepotism , audience are to blame.

Basically, whichever side we the audience take, they have to win.

Very well said👏

It absolutely does. It should not be limited to only Mahesh Bhatt. The same kind of treatment should be meted out to those movies produced by the "gang".

This should go on till Late SSR gets justice. The Bollywood industry has never been affected by the recession. Time for them to suffer like every other industry. I feel bad only for the technicians and the extras. All these years the industry has had its way. Now its payback.
